       Round 1 JD VS Brent
By: Site Adminitrator Date: April 5, 2012, 11:05 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The Realm is warm, bright even a simple place. Meadow of brown
and green grass and bits of fallen pillars to represent a bit of
a Monastery that had fallen ages ago. No trees or cover, just a
constant beating sun, a Meadow and the large stone monuments
that surround and shroud the land. Grass all around you for
miles on end. A large one seemed to be burnt into the grass to
welcome the Contestants to the first round of this grand
       tournament.
       JD VS Brent
Winner will advance to the next round!
       GO!

This was it. This was exactly what he was waiting for as the
blade had suddenly taken a turn back downwards towards him. Of
course, it was sooner than expected seeing as he was planning on
ducking away for the first retaliation, but seeing that he
didn't have such an opportunity would leave him less than the
choice he had this entire time. So now, with a smile, he would
       begin his plan.
Immediately as he watched the man pivot and force the blade down
towards the ground, Brent's body twisted to the left and outward
to the right. The effect gave him just enough space to clear the
slash that would bury the sword. But what did the man have to do
left now? Simple enough, Brent had already supposed he would
attempt to retreat and buy himself enough time to draw his
halberd. But this, in turn, brought a problem to itself. At the
same time that the sword slammed down into the ground, Brent was
already moving back to his original position and, with his left
foot, stepping first onto the blade, then propelling himself
with a harsh speed straight for the man who would, by now,
likely be just gripping the hilt of the serrated halberd.
       Perfect.
Now he would interrupt the draw. Of course, he never intended to
use the sword on his hip initially. In fact, that was for later
on in the fight, if it was required. So now, with the cards
still held tightly in his hand, it was before the man could push
the sword to the ground that, in an iota of a second, Brent had
wound back both hands and suddenly slashed them straight
forward. He didn't have time to waste. It would have to be,
sadly, an attack on the man's very vitality, and all of Brent's
weight and momentum was committed to easily reaching the man
before he could draw the weapon. In fact, by this time, Brent
was already in the man's face, with a smile that couldn't be
       mistaken.
       Then the time had come.
Immediately, in an attempt to confuse the opponent, Brent's body
spun once more and the cards of his right hand whipped through
the air, aimed straight for the man's throat. It's ideal effect
if the first connected was that the man's throat would be slit,
but he wasn't so foolish. Because of his momentum and where the
halberd may end up if the man was faster than lightning were to
connect with the cards, it would easily be able to shove the
weapon away. This set up for the second swing that, effectively,
with Brent's long reach and his continuous forward momentum with
the fact that he had been slashing horizontally with the
intention of severing the man's head, would in fact be able to
cover enough distance to slice the man across the jugular at the
least. JD had nowhere else to go seeing as his momentum backward
had halted in the time he had wasted to begin to draw his
halberd after shoving the sword into the ground, which required
a forward momentum, which had already been bested by Brent's
ability to close the distance and send in his attack to
       interrupt the attempt.
But would JD's attempt to draw be quick enough considering that
he would be open for so long with the timing of his opponent?
Brent had already boasted a fraction of his speed, and had just
now expelled more than seventy percent. Still, as he spun, Brent
already prepared yet another attempt against the man's life,
which would be a crashing heel to the top of the man's head. It
would break the bone and dig the heel into the man's head. Brent
was covering his bases, and left no part of this equation out of
       mind.
((Either way, this is my final post before my forfeit. I just
wish to see what you would do after.))

Nine, Ten the boy had actually played right into JD’s hands
waiting until he had gotten within half the distance of the two
before moving setting JD up for the counter he wished to use, he
started back over his countdown ready to now tear into the boy
that had hoped his entire plan would throw off the giant, his
eyes closed and a smirk played upon his lips his blade relaxing
in his hand and his grip lighting up letting it fall to the
ground with a loud thud, his hands remaining lightly on the hilt
a smirk playing upon his lips, he tightened the grip on the
blade and finally it rose slightly up off the ground as the bow
       moved behind him.
       +Interrupt+
As the boy darted behind the man his eyes shut and his body
relaxed for a quick second, JD is a warrior of pure destruction
with enough tactical planning to destroy armies alone. His left
foot shifted back, this was just the same as fighting a ninja or
a samurai on the battlefield, they were quick but had no
strength or prowess behind them, he shifted almost all of his
weight to his left foot and spun upon the ball of his feet
moving to face the man slamming the sword down between him and
the man putting it completely through the ground so it stood
close enough to restrict Brent from even drawing the sword at
his side without exerting more energy than he wanted to. JD’s
lips curled up into a slight smirk and his hands continued their
fluid motion and his official attack begun.
One he gripped the halberd on his back watching Brent’s actions
making sure his fluidity wasn’t interrupted, he rose his right
foot and placed it upon the guard of his sword and put enough
force into it to push the sword a couple more inches into the
ground, sliding it down just enough so he spun the halberd from
his back blade end first coming across Brent’s chest, whether
the blow connected or not it would pose no resistance to JD, so
he would then spin the halberd and point it straight forward
aiming for Brent and thrust it spear end first aimed to pierce
through his body, if it did this would be the end of the match
because Brent would be skewed on the end of the halberd, if not
       this could get rather interesting.

It was too bad he didn't wish Brent the same of luck. It almost
made him frown slightly, yet the smile he wore never faded. When
he began to charge, he didn't flinch. Every muscle, tendon, and
ligament within Brent's body was fully lax, and besides the heat
that irked him, he was actually quite comfortable. Perhaps the
battle would take his mind off of the sun's beating rays so he
could concentrate more easily? Still, he didn't have much time
to think of it. It was only a few seconds and the man had
already crossed fifteen of the thirty feet.
What was strange was that the dragging of the sword seemed to
have two meanings to it. One; it was heavy. Very heavy. Two; it
was being used for an attack that the man would hope may finish
the fight quickly. If the sword had previous upward momentum,
perhaps the attack could have been faster, but it would only
logically be sluggish compared to someone simply using cards. So
it made him smile slightly more, before he mumbled under his
       breath;
“Good luck to you as well, Brent...”
With that, and just a second before the sword came up, Brent
charged forward and to the right with an almost blinding speed.
It was enough to miss the sword belching up it's particles and
clumps of dirt to hide the full length of the blade, which had
to be quite a task to heft. Now, out of the way in merely the
second that the man used to swing the sword, Brent's body
crouched low as he continued with his dodging spin to move back
towards the man and behind him. In the same second, his arms
extended to begin it's slicing motion.
Brent's arms, for such a small man compared to this giant of an
opponent, were actually quite long, which only aided him. The
slashes were aimed in close proximity in a horizontal motion to
slice the man's back. Of course, what good would it be if the
attack were simply to be to stun? He was supposed to win,
correct? So naturally the slash was intended to sever the spine
upon contact. The man's momentous swings could be his downfall
if he couldn't move out of the way of the slices, but that
wasn't all Brent was intending. Naturally, he would need an
       escape.
So, betwixt the first and second slash, Brent's powerful legs
coiled to propel him backwards with a hard shove just as the
second slash would hurl towards the exposed flesh. If he could
just slice the man's back before he darted away, perhaps he
could end this battle quickly? Brent's body would blur backwards
in his retreat of twenty feet to the man's back-right to gain
ground clearance and for his body to be under the shade of a
nearby statue. A mere moment to cool and he would be fine, but
would the man that he attacked? Brent steeled himself and made
ready for the man's next attack, crouching even lower to keep
himself a smaller and more mobile target.

JD watched his draconian eyes picking apart the little man that
stood before him, shuffling a deck of paper between his two
palms and at his side rested the thing he dared call a blade, he
took a bow and his eyebrow raised slightly at the weird man
allowing him to introduce himself as Brent, this was his
opponent alright. JD’s golden reptilian eyes seemed to glance a
shadowing look over the man, in one fell movement he had lifted
the two handed sword and rested it on the top of his shoulders
behind his head and neck. His eyes remained on the man as he
spoke for once since making it here. “Yes they call me JD and
you’re the little person I am supposed to be fighting I take it,
Brent.” He moved the sword back to the ground and looked at the
       man he would begin now.
His eyes darted between the man and the area around them, the
sun would be a problem which meant if it came down to it he
would have to seek shelter within the shadows of the statues to
keep his fatigue from going to low. Finally his eyes rested back
on the boy, “Let’s get this started then” he stated his lips
curling up in a smirk as he grasped the hilt of his blade in
both hands and slowly began walking forward. One, Two his pace
gradually began to increase, as he drug the blade across the
ground leaving a trail of dirt and dust behind him, three, four
the ground began to shake the sword spitting up more dirt and
smoke as he began jogging for the man clearing about half the
distance between them in a few seconds.
Five, Six his body pushed forward seeming to break out into a
full run, the roots of the grass and the meadow being torn up by
the blade shooting through it his eyes focused on his prey like
a warrior engaging an entire army. The space had been cleared,
ten feet all that remained between him and the kid but JD
stopped suddenly swinging the blade from the dirt with
incredibly force shooting more dirt and such into the air,
seven, eight the blade erupted from the dirt aimed for the kids
midsection, the reach of his sword making it seem as if only the
tip of the blade was the only thing coming from the dirt and the
smoke as it was the only thing coming forth. He had to test the
waters and he would wait for now to see what the man would do.

This was it. Today would be his first fight. Of course, for
himself, it wasn't so much as exciting as it was humbling. A
small glint of sweat touched upon Brent's jawline. Today was
blistering hot, and it was actually slightly irritating, but it
still didn't seem to physically touch his otherwise calm
demeanor. A black velvet top hat with it's rim upturned obscured
angel thin brown locks which masks wild, bright emerald orbs.
His square jaw quirked slightly as the steel-bottomed boots he
wore crunched the green blades of grass beneath his feet as if
quiet as death itself. Thin digits shuffled cards which gave a
small glint which reflected light at an almost indistinguishable
       degree.
Around the jean shirt collar was a red kerchief that acted as a
tie and hung down just below the pectorals that were covered by
his shirt. Black jean pants were straight-legged with white
seams and led down to his boots that looked as if they never
knew a day of wear. But upon the left sleeve of Brent's shirt
was a bangle that reached from his wrist to near the elbow of
his left arm. It was spiraled and held intricate patterns upon
it, as if archaic to it's time. His left hip held a longsword
that dangled within it's worn leather sheathe, the mythril hilt
glistening in the light of the day. Blue sapphires splayed light
in a dazzling brilliance along anything that could be touched by
       it's rays.
Now, though, as Brent entered the area he had been directed, his
eyes fell upon a quite tall man. One thin, hidden brow raised as
he took in the size of the man.
“My word,” he said, his baritone voice slipping forth from thin
lips with it's southern drawl. The man was nine feet tall. A
great deal more than his simple five-foot-nine height. “Now how
do you suppose someone could get that tall?”
Truthfully, this was the first time he would see someone else
besides himself that was battle-ready. Still, the cards that
were shuffled betwixt his fingers never ceased their almost
illusionary motions, their sifting so quick that they left
afterimages. It was another minute before he stopped his pacing
and halted thirty feet from the man. Brent stopped his shuffling
and held the cards in one hand as he touched the top of his hat
and gave the man a bow. The bow was at an acute angle of only
thirty degrees so he could keep his eyes on the man, though
somehow one could swear that he was never truly obstructed by
       the apparel effect.
“Good day to you, sir,” he started, his voice almost pleasant to
one's ear. “My name is Brent. I imagine you're mister JD? I'll
be your opponent for the day.”
With his introduction done, Brent shuffled his deck once more
and then split it in half and fanned them out within his hands.
For now, Brent's body shifted only slightly, sinking down as the
left hand kept close to his body and the right fanned out far
from his body. There was a method to this strange madness of a
stance he held, and once he was set in it, he didn't budge
whatsoever, save the small smile that touched his lips. Brent's
feet were parted slightly more than shoulder width, and his body
was turned so his side was to the man.
“I wish you the best of luck.”
((It's short for now, but the size will grow as we progress.))

JD sighed lightly as he moved among the field stepping into the
battle arena that was decided for him and his opponent, a meadow
that would soon be riddled with the sounds of swords clashing,
steel cutting into flesh and the roar of two combatants going
toe to toe with each other. JD stood to his full height of nine
feet tall as he waited for his opponent to enter the one who
would taste blood on this day, his own blood at that. JD’s eyes
were completely closed and his lips sealed tightly the hot sun
beaming down upon his body, he had no care for the heat used to
it from what his race truly was and down to the very core he was
       ready to fight.
He wore nothing but the bottom half of the uniform they were
given showing his scar torn body to the rest of the world, scars
lining the upper half of his chest and a tattoo curling around
the mid-section of his torso. The pants he wore were loose
covering up everything until it reached his feet where they were
bare, no shoes, no boots bare feet. To be honest to everybody
else he looked as if he was going for a casual stroll through a
meadow not ready to fight a battle to claim a title. He would
prove he had what it took to claim the title of weapon master
proving he had the potential to withstand and deal back all
       blows thrown his way.
On JD’s back rested two weapons his trusty weapons at that, both
gifts from old friends whose memories are now stolen from him.
The two handed greatsword that rested in his right hand, the
sword had a ruby encrusted hilt with a golden hoister, a chain
descended from the blade and up JD’s right arm, the blade of the
sword was a crimson red color with dark tint to the outside of
the blade, the blade was carved from one of his father’s teeth
and thus was made with a more jagged edge so when it tore into
somebody generally a muscle or veins or something were pulled
out with it. The blade was a mere seve feet long and weighed
almost the same as JD as a whole.
On his back rested his mother’s glaive/halberd, a weapon crafted
for her by her brother, the blade was considerably longer than
normal spanning half the weapon with was almost nine feet tall
in its own right, the staff part of the weapon is a dark black
color made out of the wood crafted using dragon fire making it
near indestructible, the bladed end of the glaive or halberd was
made out of a metal that was myth logically said to contain a
soul of its own, the steel is a light blue sapphire color, with
an almost faint white pearly tint to it used as JD’s ranged
weapon tactic, the tip at the very end of the blade had been
cruelly made almost more jagged then the blade of his sword.
This was what JD was ready to fight with and what would make his
opponents cower in fear from him, so for now he waited.

Anger and Nature are one in the same, I am the calm before the

are one and as one the earth kneels before our wrath
