       Round 1 Maru VS Demonreach
By: Site Adminitrator Date: April 5, 2012, 10:54 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The setting is a bridge, a very large bridge that allows a
decent amount of foot work. It is in the dead of absolute winter
at night. A snow storm brewing around them to make it where it
is also cold this high above impending doom. You cannot leave
the bridges expanse for the winds are mostly controlled in that
expanse if you move out of it you would surely be torn down into
the abyss below meaning TKO. Fight hard on the bridge with the
weapons you bare, only the victor will be able to pass through
the exit on the opponents side.
special conditions~ Flight is incredibly hard, and sight can
somewhat be inhibited. Further more it is cold so even the
smallest of hits can sting a bit more than they normally would
       Maru vs Demonreach
       FIGHT!!

Shaking his head, with a sigh, the demon lord replaces Letum
Tempestas in her sheath and raises his right hand; then carves a
rose into the wall. "One day, Demonreach, we will meet again.
You've sparked a fire in me.. A fire.. that will never be
extinguished. . " With another sigh, he lowered his hand and
slipped his crimson cloak's hood over his face and walked from
the realm; fading in a sudden burst of hellfire as he closed the
door - leaving the sign in building.

As Demonreach stared at Maru Bloodrose, he nodded, planting his
scythe into the ground and offering the demon lord his left
hand, offering to help him up. "I must say... I hadn't expected
to come out of this alive... But I am sure had we met on
different circumstances you would have won." He smiled at the
Lord Bloodrose and reached over to dust the snow of the demon
lord's shoulder and turned away. "We shan't meet again and if we
do... Well, it will be brief." With those words, the One with
Many Names, the Idea of Reality, Demonreach the Daemon of
Forgotten Time, turned away, grabbed his lost arm and held to
the stump as the Celtic tattoos writhed to reattach the
appendage and proceeded to pick up his scythe, Animessor. As the
shaft entered his hand, he proceeded to walk over to where Maru
had entered and eventually, the ancient being faded from sight
       as he left the area.
(Thanks for the match bro. You had me worried a few times
though, I admit. I appreciate that you were willing to spar with
       me.)

Growling in pain, feeling the scythe start to pierce his chest,
Maru knew this would truly be the end if he didn't act fast. In
an act of desperation, he quickly released Letum Tempestas and
grabbed the blade and upper handle of the scythe and.. using all
the strength he could, pushed it from his chest before it could
complete the insertion; following with placing a foot on
Demonreach to push back away from him. Staggering back, falling
to a knee, he looked up at the towering monster. Raising his
hand, lightly touching where the scythe had begun to pierce, he
started to cough; coughing up blood and shook his head. Raising
his right hand, he shook it despite not wanting to quit.
       "Enough.. Enough..."

As Demonreach watched Maru make good his escape through his
spin, he smiled faintly. From where he would end up on the
bridge, the Daemon would watch Maru descend downward in a
spiral, watching the ice gather would him as he spun downward.
He grinned and planted his feet firmly as he watched the
ice-sickle corkscrew towards him. With a small twitch of his
left arm, the scythe moved upward; the flat of the scythe's
blade level with the point of the ice-sickle. Raising his stump
of a right arm, he placed it against the scythe to hold it in
place and then he felt it. The ice from the demon lords sword
hit the flat of the scythe and shattered almost instantly,
Demonreach working to keep his legs underneath him as he waited
for Maru's downward slash. His faint grin broadened and a dark
light entered his eyes as he stepped forward, twisting the
scythe so that the tip of the scythe's blade pointed at
Bloodrose Lord's chest and got inside Maru's guard, the blade of
the scythe pointed at the mans chest. Due to Maru's speed from
gravity, he would have little to no time to react before
Animessor pierced his chest. When it did, Demonreach would twist
to the side and rip the scythe through the body of the demon
lord, thus ending his life as the scythe passed through the
entirety of his chest, effectively cutting him in half.

Blinking, seeing two of the creature he faced racing towards
him, he only took a fraction of a second to lean back and push
his powerful legs down; using the upward thrusting momentum to
launch himself high in the air above Demonreach and the bridge.
Once in the air, to ensure extra hang-time, he allowed his wings
to open. Though flight was impossible, he figured a few seconds
of hang-time would clear his head enough to think. This man..
even in his weakened state.. was truly dangerous; almost as
dangerous as his brother.. Dems.. Almost.
Watching from above, realizing just how truly close to death
he'd just come, the demonic warlord couldn't help but feel at
least some respect developing for this Demonreach. Though he
knew his wings were powerful, he could already feel the
condensation forming on them which would spell trouble.
Realizing this, the demon lord knew his air-time had come to an
end so he flew as far from the seemingly unstoppable demon as he
could and then went back; climbing as high as he could before
reaching the point where his wings began to ice up more. Looking
down, directly below, at Demonreach, he knew now would be the
time to land the killing blow.
Knowing his wings couldn't take much more of the cold, he closed
them in such a way as to send himself spiraling downward; coiled
into a ball, holding Letum Tempestas so that it would have a
'buzzsaw effect' to it; threatening to sever the man in half
from the top of his head to betwixt his legs. The faster Maru
spun, the more ice collected upon Letum's blade until it formed
a sort of sickle; in an attempt to cleave the creature in half.
Watching, struggling to make sure he could regain control from
the 'death spiral', he moved to recover and finished the move in
a catastrophic slashing motion; the 'sickle' becoming detached
from Letum Tempestas and flying right towards Demonreach twice
as fast as the speed of the downward chop. Landing, with a
thunderous thud, Maru's head felt clearer.. less dazed, now.
The ice-sickle, of course, spiraling and spinning into a buzzsaw
of it's own, heading straight for Demon's neck; the sides being
so sharp from how it was created, they could be thought of as an
actual sawblade. If Demonreach failed to either dodge, or
shatter the ice-saw, he would find himself.. headless. If he
escaped the saw, he still faced death from above; with the
       downward thrust.

Even as his arm passed through the blade of the sword that was
clenched in the hand of Maru, he didn't register he had lost it.
Nothing showed in his face as he stared at the stump with a
black expression, with metallic blood dripping onto the ground,
the acrid smell of smoke wafting through the air as the wind
from the acidic liquid. He had felt a brief warm senstation as
the arm flew off but that feeling was lost as his body numbed
the pain almost instantly. His sapphire-azure eyes watched the
man tried get his feet under him and, before the Lord of the
Bloodrose could regain his feet, Demonreach launched himself
once more at the man, intending to end this match. The soft
cackling of the Eon Dragoon came to a stop as it gazed at Maru
through Demonreach's eyes. Cursing the fact he had only one arm
to do this with, his body became a ghostly image as the muscles
in the Daemon of Forgotten Time's legs pushed themselves even
faster; the multiple after-images of the ancient being would
become disorienting to watch as his speed increased until only
faint lines and shapes could be seen of the being himself, let
alone the images that waded in his before and after him, seeming
to indicate a fixed path but those ahead of Demonreach were
sporadic, should one try to look upon their hazy outlines.
As Demonreach came within a few feet of Maru, which would take a
few seconds and in those few seconds the demon lord would have
to find a way to stand and either move or block the swinging
motion of the scythe as it came down, threatening to cleave him
in half from shoulder to hip. With all the strength and speed in
his arms he could muster, Demonreach swung down upon the Lord
Maru Bloodrose as his feet pushed off the bridge floor, twisting
in a spinning wheel of death. The scythes' own length, along
with Demonreach's long arms, the blade would just barely scrape
against the stone bridge, which could be Maru's own body should
he not move out of the way fast enough. His spinning was barely
two seconds as his body passed over Maru's with his bare feet
placing themselves against the railing of the bridge long enough
to make sure he wouldn't slip from the ice and snow that coated
it and he pushed off again, allowing a backflip to twist his
body as he landed somewhere close to the center of the bridge,
away from the danger of falling off. The force of his landing
made a small indention in the stone railing and were he stood.
If things would go as planned, Maru's body would be either be
cut in half somewhere between the hips and chest cavity, or from
his shoulder to the opposite hip; either wound be be fatal.
Given the force behind the swing, Maru would be hard pressed to
stop the blow from cleaving his body. Where his scythe would
have hit the stone bridge, there would be a scar from the
railing along the path to where Maru's body would be, if he
hadn't moved in time, or had stopped the blow. Demonreach
inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly, as to calm his breathing.
Demonreach, in Maru's last few seconds of life should he have
been hit, would speak for the first time since the beginning of
the bout. "Lord Maru Bloodrose, Demon Lord of Destruction and
Chaos, I, Demonreach, the One with Many Names, bid thee
farewell. May your afterlife give you peace that this life
       hadn't. You are forever remembered."

Paying attention to Letum Tempestas' pain, but also to
Demonreach's arm heading straight for his face, the demon lord
quickly brought the blood-soaked katana up so as to sever
Demonreach's arm just as it made contact with his face. The
force of Demonreach's arm contacting his nose wasn't enough to
break it, but it did send the demon lord flying and landing on
the ground several yards away; in serious pain, blood trickling
down his maw, but refusing to go down without a fight. Letum
Tempestas, laying mere centimeters from his right hand, starting
to react to her master's lack of a grip on her hilt; the blade
began to resonate as if calling out to him to retake her.
       Laying on the ground, in a daze, the demon lord groaned softly;
pain surging through his face. It felt like he'd been hit by a
truck. Eyes crossing and uncrossing, he simply lay there trying
to relax and calm down; to block out the pain. He couldn't help
but feel drained, due to the horrifically devastating blast he'd
just taken; simply to literally disarm his opponent. Slowly, his
eyes begin to refocus and his ears twitch and yet he still found
himself stunned. Raising his left hand up, he gingerly touched
his lip and could feel the blood; raising the hand to his face,
when his eyes focused on it, he snarled.
Stumbling, clawing his way back to his feet, the demon lord
retook Letum Tempestas in hand. Looking down to her, the aura
fading from whence she'd burned the blood from her metallic
sheen, he looked up over at the man; breathing somewhat heavily.
Raising his left arm again, he wiped the blood from his maw even
though his nose hurt like hell. Still somewhat crouched, so as
to maintain a steady stance, the demon lord sighed. ".. Damn..
Never been struck like that before.. I'm impressed.."

Watching the Lord Bloodrose move out his charge, he wondered
what the being was planning but didn't dwell upon it too long
before his body was turning of its own accord; from centuries of
fighting and honing his instincts. He felt the blade scrape
along his ribs but didn't give an utterance that he felt
anything of the pain one should feel. Metallic blood seeped from
the cut, creeping onto the blade of Maru's sword; Demon's blood
was acidic and could eat through just about any type of metal.
The Celtic tattoos writhed in agitation. He ignored their
swirling and the growl of the old god within him; the cackling
of the Eon Dragoon being drowned out as well as he spun opposite
of what the blade was. His right arm swinging to take the
demonic lord in the face with Demonreach's forearm, hopefully
breaking the beings nose. Whether or not this connected, and if
Maru was stupid enough to stay within range of Demonreach's long
limbs, the ancient being would plant his foot upon Maru's leg
and jump off said appendage; the force of the jump would break
the leg. If he was allowed to jump off the leg, he would spin
and swing a leg out to connect to Maru's collarbone or chest,
pushing the demon lord back and either breaking the collarbone
or causing a minor fracture upon the lord's chest. If he did
push the Bloodrose Lord back, his scythe would swing out towards
the demonic creatures torso and cleave the being in half.
If his jumping off would fail, by various means of which
Demonreach was sure Maru would use to stop the jump, he would
duck and roll towards the left; his right arm would swing out
once more to 'close-line' the entities leg, to break it. Should
this happen, Demonreach would twist upon his back, his legs
swinging up to kick Maru in the face. If his kick to the face
missed, Demonreach would continue to spin to kick out Maru's
other, unbroken leg out from under him and then would twist to
push himself off the bridge floor and land a few yards away
before rushing the demon lord, his scythe trailing behind him as
he charged towards Maru Bloodrose. As he reached a few feet away
from the downed creature, Demonreach would swing his scythe
       upward and plant the butt of the shaft into the demon's throat;
if this failed, he would execute a 360-spin, swinging his scythe
outward, to both ward off any attacks and to hopefully strike
       the Lord of the Bloodrose.
After either attack, should Maru be alive or at least be able to
move, Demonreach would back step a few paces before his body
would fade and appear again fifty yards away, with Animessor
poised infront of him, a dark gleam in the sorrow-filled being.
Demonreach could feel the battle-crazed thoughts trying to
override his logical mind and it did, for the most part, but his
reasoning mind stayed alert and open, wondering what was to come
       should his attacks have failed.

"Playtime. . " Was all he said, watching the towering creature
gallop towards himself. He wasn't worried, nay, for he placed
his left foot in front of his right and kicked off into a
spinning motion; using the increasing momentum and bringing
Letum Tempestas up right along the 'windscar' sent to try to cut
him. The speed with which the demon lord moved, the velocity of
his blade's movement, was enough to send a powerful burst of air
at the wind blade. However, he knew it may not work and that it
wouldn't be a good idea to stand in one place so he strafed to
the left and allowed his body to 'dive' to the ground and out of
the way of the large demon; quickly spinning around and out of
the man's path. Grinning to himself, as he knelt on the ground,
he chuckled softly; the lust for battle filling his eyes.
Watching the large man, Lord Maru returns to his feet and grins
again. Raising his left hand, he's quick to wipe the snow from
his maw, his tongue slips from his lips as he slowly licks them.
"Hmm.. this could get fun.." A ripple echoing down his right arm
causes Letum Tempestas to resonate and rip the watery residue
from herself before returning to a rest. "Keep this up, my boy,
and I may allow you to live.. It's been a while, since I've had
any fun..." Pushing his left foot back, the demon lord kicks off
and seemingly vanishes from sight before reappearing behind
Demonreach and sending a thrust directly to his back; in an
attempt to paralyze or kill him instantly. Upon the completion
of the stabbing motion, he faded from existence yet again and
reappeared again; several yards away. "Come...." His body,
limber, was only slightly wet from the snowy conditions.

The sapphire-azure pools riddled with sorrow found the speaker
with an even more saddened smile. "Frozen abyss, eh? Well, I am
sure it would last only briefly before my body took upon the
heat and it shall truly be cold." Since the ancient being felt
nothing but the heat around him, and even then the feeling of
warmth vanished as the coldness of his body absorbed it. He
shrugged with a small rolling motion with his broad shoulders.
While the demonic lords height was impressive, Demonreach
towered over the man at seven foot and eleven inches. A growl
vibrated through his mind and he hushed it with a growl of his
own; the growl pervaded the area between the two combatants. His
shoulders sagged slightly as if over-burdened by some weight but
his shoulders rolled and he stood straighter, a small smile
       ever-present upon his angelic features, though it was saddened;
faint shadows of amusement thundered behind his eyes, dark
ripples of insanity clawed at his thoughts but he ignored them
all and felt... nothing. The red Celtic tattoos that covered his
entire body, which were visible moreso than usual due to the
lack of clothing, as he had taken it off. He inhaled deeply,
taking a few moments to enjoy the breath and before releasing it
       slowly.
As the breath began to fade from his lungs, his left arm moved
within half a blink; the movement was from the right to the
left. The power behind the swing sent a air wave towards the
demonic lord, cutting a path in the snow drifts and causing the
air to scream as the blade made its way through the air to
execute sending a slash of air towards the demonic being. As the
       blade finished its passing, the ancient being was on the move;
the deadly scythe trailing behind him. His movements were fluid,
no wasted energy as he crossed the expanse between the two
fights, no embellishments and no wasted movements as he came
within range to strike the Lord Maru. While he was running
towards the opponent, his image flickered in three different
places and each step was ten yards in length, though he hadn't
been jumping. No, this was his speed and with each step, it only
increased. Should the demon lord be able to see the movements of
his run, he would notice that Demonreach seemed to float through
the air after each step and would see the scythe being prepared
to cut into the man at a downward stroke; from left shoulder to
right hip. When the cut would finish, the Idea of Reality would
spin and plant the end of the shaft into the demonic lords
chest, where his heart would be, if the lord would have one. If
this happened, Demonreach would lift up on the scythe, cutting
Maru's body from chest to shoulder.

(Sorry it's so long, got in the mood to be epic and well...
might've put in some unneeded details... xD)
       A bridge. . How quaint. . . A bridge. . Connecting the blood
soaked killing fields, and the untouched realms. Some would say
it was fate which brought these two demonic entities to this
meeting point, and they may be right in one regard, but in
truth. . it was more than simple fate. Call it what you will. .
Fate. . Destiny. . chance. . but whatever the case, whatever the
reason, only one thing truly matters now; the time has come. The
time in which childish things are strewn to the wayside, and a
boy becomes a man; the time when the titans clash, and the
heavens cry. . a time. . when all that matters. . is the
survival of the strongest. Angels and demons, gods and devils,
titans and giants. all throughout the ages, have fought. . but
none could hold a candle to the purely psychopathic raging
cauldron known as Lord Maru; the almighty demon lord of legend.
A warrior with the might to crush entire dimensions, the fury to
burn even the hottest of fires, the fiery passion which burned
all the brighter to fight and take the lives of his enemies; a
       force without remorse. . without hesitation. . without weakness;
the indestructible master of war; The Almighty Abyssal Dragon
God of Destruction. The man, single handedly responsible for
reshaping the course of history and the utter annihilation of
       the so called 'drow king'. . the one who's soul refuses to die;
who's anger, thirst for vengeance and bloodshed are only
rivaled by that of the eternal compassion and love for his
       beautiful daughter; Crystal.
The one whom many have come to fear, love, respect. . . The man
who, even when staring death in the face, has no fear; the man
who's golden eyes burn with a flame hotter than all in the
netherworld. The one whose broken enemies have come to know, to
be truly indestructible; the one whom even death himself fears.
Is this a man, a demon, god, or some other creature from some
unknown realm of existence? Is this supre-demon really a demon
at all, or is he something far more sinister? Are you truly
asking yourself this, or are you -in fact- preparing for the
inevitable revelation that he has come for you and will not stop
until he's taken absolutely everything from you? Your life, your
blood, your soul; your right to walk in this world and not the
       netherworld?
A seemingly mortal frame which stands at a staggering six feet
five inches, and weighs no more than two hundred thirty five
pounds. Feet and legs, hardened and toned for the undeniable
strains of battle. A torso, riddled in scars and archaic
markings; a testament to the many battles he's been in, giving
his muscular body a sort of 'roadmap' appearance. His arms, and
hands, long and lean. . yet muscular enough to hold the strength
equal to that of an army. Hands, and fingers, with a grip strong
enough to crush diamonds; each finger, wielding a retractable
razor sharp claw. Upon his backside, at the waistline, are two
protruding limbs. . each one strong enough to crush even the
hardest of steals; each tail, reaching the length of
approximately five feet long. Upwards, towards his
shoulder-blades. . approximately six inches to a foot down his
back are extrusions where his powerful wings protrude from his
being; each wing, capable of being used -normally- as multiple
       points of attack.
Upon his powerfully muscular yet lean and compact shoulders, is
a powerfully sculpted neck. Leading upwards, from the perfectly
sculpted and extremely powerful demonic body, is the head. With
a strong jaw, a mouth of razorblade-like teeth, a tongue
rivaling that of a wolf's, ears resembling those of an ancient
wolf, punishing golden eyes inset in -slightly- deep sockets; a
head of long, beautifully flowing hair which could be easily
mistaken as 'white fire', and of course. . the trademark blue
crescent moon marking upon his forehead; the 'demon' of
       forgotten lore.
Covering his insanely well built -and compact- body, is a
flowing white kimono; with a black sash-like belt tied around
his waist. While not his usual, or preferred, kimono, it does
it's part to protect his lean and powerful body from the harsh
mistress known as winter. Upon his feet, waterproof leather
boots. His kimono jacket, drawn closed as he places his hand
upon the hilt of his trusty katana. . the living tri-demon
twisted obsidian katana known as 'Letum Tempestas'. Slowly, he
draws her from the scabbard and grasps -tightly- her hilt.
Speaking to her, softly, for a moment, he gets the resonating
       blade to calm down.
Now, the time having finally come, the demon lord's golden gaze
again falls to Demonreach. Though slightly hindered by the
sub-par conditions, he closes his eyes for a moment; awakening
the dormant and primitive side within. However, this day, he
only allowed the creature within to increase his vision,
strength, speed, and stability. Now, slowly opening his eyes
again, he could see Demonreach more clearly.. Rather, he could
see the creature's 'scent' and heat signature. His golden gaze,
now with a crimson hue, locked onto his opponent. With a
devastating growl, he addressed his destined rival. "Demonreach
Dominae. . This Lord Maru Bloodrose. . welcomes you. . to your
frozen death, in the abyss below."

A small sigh escaped Demonreach as he found himself on a bridge
in the dead of winter, at night. Not that the Daemon of
Forgotten Time felt the cold, since his body was colder still,
but it was slightly bothersome. Especially with the snow storm
but not even that bothered him after he got used to the feel of
the water droplets upon his arms and body from where the snow
had hit him and immediately melted. Sapphire-azure eyes glanced
about, mainly toward the opposite side of the bridge where his
opponent shall be. He shrugged and closed his eyes; he could
feel the sorrow deep within his heart rising once more. A
saddened smile graced his flawless features. Only one things
matters... But would it be enough to win this? He held no doubts
he would die but he wouldn't stand idle and let the man slash
away at his body. Nay, Demonreach had too much riding and so
little time... Time... I need more of it... He laughed for a few
minutes before growing somber and raising his hand; within the
clenched fist of his left arm was a scythe, Animessor, in it's
horrid glory. A dark power radiated from it but it was subdued
and... quiet. His gaze found the sky and frozen tears left his
tear-ducts freely. "Dear boy... Forgive your old man for this...
I hope you will appreciate this gift and not see it has a
curse..." He smiled as he felt his son's mind acknowledge this
but other than that, it was closed off to Demonreach.
"Just as well." He grinned, though it was sorrowful, which
belied the confidence in the way he spoke and stood and walked.
The way he stared around like he was someone important. Rolling
his broad shoulders, he planted Animessor into the bridge with a
satisfied thunk and removed the given armor and stood before his
opponent, naked. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. It was
time. Picking up Animessor, he twirled it around a few times,
watching the rubies within the shaft gleam darkly as the air
screamed with each passing of it's blade. How does one prepare
for the death of ones self? Well, you can't. You just have to
improvise and hope against all hope you can make it out. But
Demonreach didn't think he would. His death was eminent and
nothing would change that. He may lose it in this very
tournament. It didn't matter. It was time. Time to face his
reality. Time to shed his blood for something worth bleeding
for. A grim determination fixated itself upon his souls and body
and mind and his muscles relaxed as he exhaled once more. His
sight was hardly diminished as he had Kuros Eyes, which allowed
him to see into the darkest of places by the air currents. Not
knowing what his opponent had, having only met the being once,
he could only assume that he wasn't the only one with a slight
       advantage in this match.
       It was time...
       Time for what, though?
