"God forbid I'd get stuck in this place with y-o-u." Wilson drew
out each syllable between his lips. His weary eyes narrowed ever
so slightly, both twitching a little as he grumbled in loathing.
"Stupid magic. Stupid attics. Stupid Maxwell!" He cursed to the
sky, bellowing out a cry of fury afterwards. His scuffed boots
made his footsteps, mildly intimidating; however Maxwell seemed
unphased by the boys temper tantrum. Wilson took in a heavy and
slow breath to try and calm himself, reminding him that he was a
gentleman scientist. Not a mammal with rabies; though it would
come in handy with slowly and painfully hurting Maxwell. It was
him who got them there in the first place.
Suddenly he was back to his hissy fit, face red as a cherry,
leaving a trail of footprints in his wake as he stomped through
the pitiful camp. A few farms had been messily set up in
attempts to grow food through the harsh seasons. Two grass
sleeping bags were set around a hastily made coal lit fire, and
the ground was receiving a nasty beating from Wilson's boots. A
few "plips" hit the ground, the fuming scientist unaware what
was yet to come.
"Ribbit-" A small noise came from next to him, stopping him dead
in his tracks. "You've got to be kidding me." He spoke as the
frog leaped at him, unleashing it's spiked ended tongue at once.
Wilson let out a girlish shriek and moved as fast as his legs
could carry him around the camp, limbs failing as yet another
frog fell in front of him. Maxwell chuckled quietly as he
watched the display of cowardliness, enjoying the show.
Wilson grabbed the nearest blunt object and began to repeatedly
hit the frogs that came his way, taking a few hits in the
process. "Bloody." BAM. "Stupid." BAM. "Frogs!" BAM. he gave a
battle cry as he charged them. That was until he realized the
poor mistake he had made of charging directly into a mass of
them. "Bollocks." He said quietly, eyes widening in fear as he
clutched the object to his chest. He hastily strapped on a log
suit to help semi-protect himself. It wasn't much but it helped
hold off the hounds; Or rather the beefalo did while he sat and
reaped the rewards after the massacre.
"You could help me!" He cried as he continued running, stopping
to deliver a couple hits to the mass of amphibians every so
often. "You got us into this mess, the least you could do is
help me get out of it!" Maxwell continued to seem uninterested,
the elongated features looking even more so, that was unless the
frogs began to catch up to Wilson. Then and only then would the
corners of his mouth move ever so slightly to make out a
half-assed smile.
Maxwell of course was enjoying himself until he heard that very
same dreaded noise. He didn't dare look, squeezing his eyes shut
as he took a deep breath in. "For the love of-" Wilson bashed
it's face, and repeated this for a few times until it finally
laid still. "Move!" Wilson shoved Maxwell away and the two began
running, away from camp. Away from safety and away from
everything they had built. Though not very impressive, still
quite a substantial amount. It however was far away from the
hoard of frogs that refused to give up chasing them until dawn
had hit. Wilson laid down on the ground, breathing raggedly
after all the running. His chest heaved and his lungs wheezed
until finally he caught his breath. He reached into his pocket
to remove the map and inspect it, realizing they were far, far,
away from home.
"Um.. Maxwell.. We have a problem."
