The journey that the Concorde had to stop SHARE Dollar actress
Joan Collins and supermodel Christie Brinkley were on the
exclusive passenger list of guests who had paid to make it on
the supersonic plane Concordes final journey. The Concorde on
display at Charles De Gaulle airport The Concorde took off from
New Yorks John F. Kennedy International Airport on October and
landed at Londons Heathrow Airport less than four hours later.
It is approx. half the time a normal trip across the Atlantic
would take.

dream of the luxurious transatlantic
journeys on speed is still alive. Better than ever Blake Scholl
would probably say. Scholl is an engineer and CEO of Boom
Supersonics. A company which according to its founder intends to
continue the journey the Concorde could never complete. Boom
Supersonics has employees and Englands eccentric rich man and
adventurer Richard Branson is of course on the list of
investors.

Last October Boom was able to present a scale model of the XB.
The companys first supersonic aircraft. Despite the inspiration
from the Concorde a lot has happened in the last almost years.
Booms have gone from aluminum to carbon fiber elements. The
engines friendly. Cheaper computer simulations have replaced
expensive tests in giant wind tunnels. The improvements actually
mean that OverturenBooms name for the future commercial
highflyer will be cheaper than the Concorde.
