This thread is for calculations of the yields of non-turbolaser
       blaster cannons.

       Defiant-class blasters

The first time the second ship explodes, the blast has a radius
of about 12 feet, or 4 meters. So the combined power of all four
of the Defiant's cannons is about the same as 0.3 lb of TNT. [1]
       That's 140 grams, or 585760 joules. [2] A pretty reasonable
       figure: 35g per cannon.

       Plasmatic pulse effect

I think that the bigger explosion is caused by the exploding
reactor, and not the plasma. The smaller explosion is about 2
feet in diameter (assuming that the ship being blown up is 10
feet long). The bolt therefore has a yield of about 0.1 lbs (40
       grams) of TNT. [1]
       Rating: 5/10
Now I'll do it by destruction. To melt 200g of iron requires
about 256000 joules, or 61g of TNT. That's comparable to a
       Photon torpedo.
       Rating: 6/10
Both answers above seem reasonable, but I think the second one
       is more reliable.

Two bolts put together have the shockingly low yield of about
4-8 grams of explosives (by radius). Maybe it's a plasmatic
       pulse. [1][2]
       Rating: 5/10
UPDATE: I did it by destruction.
To vaporize 3g of iron requires 22890 joules. 22890J equals
about 5.4g of TNT, within the range of the previous calculation.

This appears to be about as powerful as the previous one, maybe
       a little more. About 10-20g.

The bolt-produced explosion is about 6g, probably 2-3g per bolt.
The TIE exploding is about 90g. [1]

       Y-Wing blasted by TIE
By: Dutch Date: December 19, 2020, 9:09 pm

The first explosion is from a Y-Wing getting taken down by a TIE
fighter. It's about 1 pound/450 grams, maybe more. If we are
conservative and assume that most of that is from the fuel, we
       still get 45 grams.
