Just saw this thread. I bass fish normally. Lately I have been
catfishing from my kayak because my home lake is so heavily
pressured. I will be fishing and have a bass boat go between me
and the target I am fishing or ski boats almost tump me. So I
have been going to the river under the dam of the lake. Easy
access and the state record flathead was caught there.
I have never caught a flatty on purpose. Caught them bass
fishing. Now I wanna get one so bad. I catch blues and channels,
never any monsters but up to 10 lbs. Someday on a winter day I
will tangle with a big girl. But I still want a flatty, they are
harder to find than bass. Great vid, is that you? Wish I had a
trolling motor. both my yaks are paddle.

You know it's funny. Everyone that is not fishing for cats.
Catch the biggest. I caught a 7 pounder on fake crawfish. I
added scent to attract fish and low and behold. Dumb, dumb
takes it. I knew it wasn't a bass because it just felt like a
weight on the line and not much fight.

I caught a 10 lb'r on a wacky worm. No scent just pitched it to
a tree and felt a thump. Set the hook and just knew I finally
had a trophy bass. Then I saw big ugly and he went for deep
water. I had light line so I let him play himself out and tow me
around a bit. Fun but wanted a bass.

Shit bro, that 10 I caught dug like the devil. Shook it's head
and bit me when I landed it. I tried to lip it like a bass. Want
a big un real bad. Winter time I catfish with raw chicken. I
always catch decent fish but never over 8-10 lbs. It is a matter
of time before I finally get a big un. The lake I fish has a
record of 98 lbs so there are big uns. Guys catch 60+ every year
and so many 30-40s it is just silly.

Have you ever got stuck by their barb? It stings for hours.
Something must come out of the barb. was threaten that catfish
all the way home. Stung for hours.

Oh yeah, for sure. Bullhead freshwater cats are terrible and
hardheads in salt hurt like the devil. No where near jelly fish
mind you. Last time I went I got stung by those jelly bastards 3
       times.

Jellyfish are the worst. I was trying to cut one up with my
line. While reeling in. Well, the water was coming off my line
on to my skin. Mate. it hurt like the dickens! Yea that is
       also bad sting.
