Brisbane score first win of the season over Penrith
For the first time this season the Brisbane Broncos have won a
match beating a determined Panthers side at Centrebet Stadium
26-18.
The Broncos came out in the first half with a point to prove,
the Brisbane forward pack dominated in the early stages bashing
their way through the Panthers and making plenty of meters. The
Panthers were left shell shocked at half time with nothing to
show for their effort at 14 nil.
The second half saw the Panthers return the first half favour to
the Broncos and reducing the gap to two points by the hour mark.
With all the momentum against them now Brisbane were in trouble
with the Panthers on the attack again until a poor pass was
thrown by Penrith and scooped up by Andrew McCollough who ran 80
meters to score a vital try.
The Broncos went back to back scoring a try that would break the
spirit of the Penrith players. Although Penrith managed a late
try it was far to late and Brisbane took victory 26-18.
Penrith's coach says "It is disappointing to loose our first
home game of the year, we were on top in the second half but we
let ourselves down again with to many errors. If we can get rid
of these silly mistakes we may stand half a chance in this
competition but until then we will loose more matches then we
win. I congratulate Brisbane on fine display of Rugby League
especially in the first half"
The Panthers now face another Queensland side in the form of the
Cowboys in round 5.

Thanks mate, uh can you remind me how that went again? I am
struggling to remember but I get the feeling a little bit of hot
potato since it was late in the match and it was desperate
times.
