Penrith beat Cronulla in a 'Tighe'athon
The Penrith Panthers have defeated the Cronulla Sharks in fine
and sunny conditions at shark park. The Panthers never looked
like loosing this one in a game that saw Penrith winger Brad
Tighe score four tries.
The Panthers led into the late stages of the match 36-6 until a
Luke Walsh 40 20 attempt landed out on the full given the Sharks
much needed field position in which they manage to take full
advantage and cross for a 4 pointer. Michael Gordon kicked the
ball out on the full straight after the try and Cronulla scored
off the back of the penalty to make it 36-18.
Any attempt of come back was short lived when Penrith scored
again to make it 42-18 with a try on full time to the Sharks
making the full time score 42-24.
The majority of Penrith's success came from the new left centre
wing combination of captain Luke Lewis and Brad Tighe. Penrith
coach spoke of Lewis's successful return into the centres "We
were looking to tighten up our defence down that side of the
field and we did, however Luke did a marvolous job in attack and
combined brilliantly with Brad Tighe to really cause drama to
Cronulla's defence."
The Panthers have now won back to back games and head to the
foot of the mountain for the first time next round for their
match with the Brisbane Broncos.
Injuries: Travis Burns (Penrith), Ben Ross (Cronulla).

Sorry if it sounds like I have given you a bad rap there. It is
just by the time I get to writing the report I kind of find it
hard to remember what happened in the match.

haha no bad rap i deserve most of it. We were shit when we had
the ball (even though there was little of it) Especially in the
first half. till about the 25th minute it was slog for slog and
some line breaks and good throwing the ball around but Tighe got
over first and it deflated me. Then i through my own fault
didn't replace players late in the half so my players were on
their feet (forwards) so you were able to get easy metre up the
middle. Still need to sort out interchange.
If you concede a try i think its safe to say you should expect
back to back ones when it comes to online matches
