Manly have defeated Melbourne 36-18 in a high intensity match up
at ANZ Stadium. In wet conditions defence was key in the opening
40. Melbourne scored first in the 27th minute off a cleaver
grabber kick. The teams went into the sheds at 6 all.
The second half was a tight arm wrestle with the scores locked
at 18 all. Manly we able to handle the wet conditions better in
the end with the storm tiring.

Warriors def. Eels 50 - 18.
On the back of a Konrad Hurrell hatrick, and a lopsided
possession count, the Warriors eliminated the Eels at
Parramatta. Possession stats finished at 70%-30% to the
visitors, after Parra had the ascendency at the break. Chris
Sandow started superbly, seemingly sparking the Eels at will.
However he clearly limped to the sheds at the break with the
sides even on the scoreboard. Everything the NZ side touched in
the second half turned to gold, and while Hurrell and Kevin
Locke figured in a big way, Shaun Johnson was awarded the Man of
the Match.
