Super League or NRL 2nd Division?

We want this community to be fun for everyone. Is it okay that
we have people as Super League teams when we don't really follow
the SL? We really only know the ex NRL players right?
If we can have more people interested and get involved with
games then why not allow them to play as a NRL team?
One reason may be 'Because we have the CC comp with SL teams
involved'.
How fair is this CC comp for those teams when they are weaker in
almost every way to the NRL teams?
Another is 'the SL comp has kicked off already'. But only one
game has been played since Friday, how interested are the 8
coaches?
I propose we have a NRL 2nd Division (NRL 2D). 2D coaches choose
NRL teams as the NRL comp does. There are two Seperate comps
running side by side with the top 4 teams of 2D being promoted
to NRL and the bottom 4 of NRL being relegated to 2D.
At the end of the season teams are given up. The reward for your
table standing is you choose your preferred team. If Melbourne
finish in 1st position they have first choice of team for season
2, 2nd position 2nd choice, but from 5th to 8th we let the top 4
of NRL 2D choose and let it flow down to the other coaches.
2D teams: Botton 4 Relegated teams from NRL choose first then
let it flow on from 5th as it would.
2D teams would play a shortened season to end about the same
time as the NRL.
First in best served for team selection. kf we have a big swing
towards NRL 2D with more than 6 votes for then start picking if
you are a SL coach or a coach in waiting

Hi Benz
I agree I am keen to join a strong comp with committed coaches.
I would love to see a comp run in conjunction with the NRL the
full comp following the full draw this would take some
commitment from players benz but im sure if you advise them what
the prize would be it would get the commited players interested.

Also Benz as well as the 2 prizes I will donate for the winner I
know that after 16 or even 10 rounds if some people are not in
the top 8 people may think their not in contention for the top
prize I am willing to donate 2 tickets to the NRL 2013 grand
final to be in contention they must play all their games by the
nominated time frame should they do this you could do a draw out
of a hat at the end of the 26 rounds for the people who have
made the commitment towards the comp by doing this will keep
everyone from 1st to 16th commited to the comp with the chance
to go to the NRL grand final

Benz,
I have also felt this way about the ESL. As nice as it is to
have the pommy teams involved, truth is most aussies don't give
a sh#t about the players and lose passion for their team. Or
don't join because they can't play as their fave NRL club...
I wanted to discuss this openly with Benz and the community and
perhaps have a 3d item to vote on:
2d Division NRL teams -that are CUSTOM!
-This means you can now make your own players (your all time
favorites, or even just the blokes you play touch footy with)
and play them in the 2d div ladder. Obviously custom teams
allows you to edit your other players too, so there will be no
holds bars on stats you can create. -You may also import your
Career mode team too if you have fallen in love with them.
My ultimate reasoning for this is to make the game funner and
more random, with also the added benefit of having more supreme
teams for mediocre players (like me!) that will eventually find
their place competitively in 2d division...
An example would be:
1st Div (Big Ant Cup) All 16 NRL Teams
2d Div (*** Cup) 16 Teams NRL or Custom -with custom made
players enabled
Champ Cup: any division may play each-other for points.
Hopefully I haven't gone overboard with the idea. But I really
miss the custom Broncos side I made with my mates and would be
keen to bring king Lewis and Locky outta retirement!!
Keen to know the communities thoughts on this and add it to the
polls if there's pos feedback!

Teamramrod mate that is a HUGE offer man. I am blown away by
your generosity.
I am glad we have had some good feedback regarding 2D. Everyone
feel free to offer input. This is our community.
With the custom teams: I think there will need to be boundaries
put in place. Coaches could recruit the Aus national team? Are
we going to have the same players in each team? What happens to
the custom team if the coach leaves, does someone take them on
or do they bring in their own team? (What happens to the exiled
teams stats and ladder standings if they are replaced with a new
custom team?)
Also I think custom teams with all players on 100% stats will
kill the NRL teams. We will have to trial it. Custom broncos vs
Manly.
I am all for it tho, we will just have to go into more depth on
the rules and structures then vote. :)

Maybe do a points system where all players are graded from Int
player 15 points origin player 10 points etc etc with a salary
cap of 200 points

I'm glad you asked Benz..
Custom team creation only gives you a limit per player how much
pts you can spend on each area:
Eg: My AceAv character has about 80-85% stats down the board,
but I had to lower his "strip ball" and "catch high ball" to
about 25% as a result. Players can't have 100% stats, Big Ant
were smart enough to make it balanced like this...
However they will definately have a good advantage over the 1st
grade licensed clubs and CC challenges can be adjusted
accordingly OR we can allow 1st grades to have the choice to
play the 2d grade with their custom team or vice versa.
With the teams & players: The important thing to keep is the
Club So if 2d Div Bulldogs brings in 12 of his favourite
players, then suddenly decides he wants to become a Mormon and
sells his ps3. We will find a new bulldogs coach, and they can
create their own custom team to fill the shell that the old
coach left behind.
With this rule: Yes -there maybe 2,3 maybe 10! Cameron Smiths
running around the paddock! I think a rule will need to be: You
can't have 2 of the same named players in your team. But you can
certainly have 5 clubs each with their own Ben Barba. -A little
unrealistic yes, but we will be facing this problem anyhow if
the 1st grade (licensed) Warriors coach played the 2d Grade
(licensed) Warriors coach. Identical players are inevitably in
the game. -I can live with it, as long as there is a
diversity/uniqueness in each team. -Most coaches will want to
have a good all differing group of players to toy with. So it's
unlikely we will see a team of Ben Hannants all with slightly
different names...
Anyways -just thought I'd throw it into the voting pool. -Maybe
something we shelf until seas 3 kicks off and we have about 40
members all active and keen to play!

Personally I enjoy the way the NRL comp is run now. I would love
to see a second comp run the same way.

Would anyone consider for a 2nd division comp fielding the
following teams
Newtown Jets
North Sydney Bears
Illawarra Cutters
Balmain Tigers
Western Suburbs Magpies
Redcliffe Dolphins
Tweed Heads Seagulls
Central Queensland Capras
Auckland Vulcans
Just a thought with some NRL players in there would make a
pretty interesting comp

That is interesting ramrod. I wouldn't mind creating a Adelaide
Rams team!
We have 34 or so members. Let us know your thoughts coaches.
