Sigh, I have to go through times square every day to get back
and forth from work.
I do not care one iota about a tourist's photograph. They can
take another. If I tried to avoid or pay attention to every
single person trying to take a picture, I'd never make it home.
And having been a tourist in some places, if a person needs to
walk by they have the right of way. Real people trump cameras.

You all pretty much confirmed what I thought.
I will continue as I have done so far. If I wasn't on a really
tight schedule to get to my train I'd probably pay a bit more
attention, but as it is, I don't have the time to stop
constantly if at all.

I used to live in DC, where tourists abound most times of the
year but particularly in the spring and summer. They have to
recognize that the city doesn't exist solely for their
wandering, loitering, and photographing, just as people who work
there have to remember that tourists don't exist solely to annoy
them. ;D I think you're doing just fine the way you go about
things.

The only thing I can think of is if you could try to leave 5
minutes earlier, then you have a little more wiggle room in your
schedule - not just for tourist traffic, but other snafu's that
could be a problem. Like construction, weather, lines, wardrobe
problems, etc.

I'd love. Unfortunately it's not always possible - I finish work
at 4pm and need to be at the station by 4:15. But I don't have
to run, it's not that tight.

Ah, I didn't realize it was the commute home. Never mind.
(I know how irritating it can be to try to catch a train home,
only to miss it and have to wait an additional 45 minutes for
the next one out- not the end of the world, but frustrating as
all get-out.)
