Giggle Loop - for some reason I can't quote posts, but I have to
say I really don't like the name Aiden or its variations. I know
several little boys with that name who I like just fine, but the
name grates. I do, however, like Adrian. It was on my short
       list.

I'm pretty sure I put this in that "other" baby names thread a
while back, but I thought of it again this week because I saw
the name again at work: Kryan. Why would you do that to your
       child?

For the same reason people name their kids stuff like Ghen'phurr
when they mean Jennifer and Xxyxxyll..
Unique is way more important than "Will my child's future be
       damaged by this.."

I can imagine trying to introduce him, "My name is Kryan."
       What, crying?

My daughter went to school with a girl whose name was G'mani.
Now, you look at that and think "Um, Juh-Mah-nee? "Gah-mah-nee?"

Nope. It was pronounced like the zodiac sign, Gemini. Which
is, I think, a plenty strange enough name without going and
messing up the spelling. Talk about a double whammy.
I always wondered if her siblings' names were QuaPree-K'horn,
       Pye'seeze, Uk'wary-us, Squworepy'oh, or the like.

I was talking with dd yesterday and she mentioned she met a kid
with a funny name. And she told me her name is Honour. (she
       spelled it out for dd)
I thought well yes that's unusual. But then she said she
       introduced her sister Justice.
Who would name their kids with Honour and Justice?

Honour and Justice don't seem that much weirder than Faith and
Hope and Charity. Just less common :) I do find it interesting
that they went with the English spelling of Honour, not the
       American.

Jessica Alba named her daughter Honor.
