It's not particularly obnoxious-sounding, but something about it
bothers me.

Audio Science. Let's hope for his sake that he inherits his
mother insanely good looks.

You're not alone on the Brayden hate. I was reading an article
that said it placed second in a survey of most hated names:

When my friend was pregnant, I told her she couldn't name her
son anything that rhymed with Aiden.

I was really surprised to see Michael and Hope there. I like
both of them and too boring as a reason is just silly.

Hand to the Goddess, I swear this is an actual child's name:
Gethsemane. Always wondered if he had a brother Golgotha...

A Facebook friend from work posted a link to this "bad baby
names" article:

Most of the names aren't bad at all. Some are nature names
(Linden, Winter, Juniper), some are from ancient history or
mythology (Lysander, Alaric), some are foreign (Dagmar) and some
are biblical (Malachi). OK, they're not Jason and Jennifer, but
they seem pretty tame to those of us who have read the EH baby
name thread and/or watched "Toddlers & Tiaras."

I agree, BagLady. I'd meet a kid named Alaric than Dovahkiin
:P. (And I quite like Malachi).

Anymore, I'm just happy when names follow an actual language's
phonetic rules -- rather than "the dash don't be silent"

What's wrong with Malachi?
I am strangely taken by some really weird names. I LOVE Rowan.
And Hava. I am not sure I would ever give a child those names,
though. I think they're beautiful, but there's a lot of
potential for them to hate them.

My biggest baby name pet peeve are overly nickname-y names.
Someone earlier linked the list of bad celebrity baby names, and
Jaime Oliver's were the worst, IMO. Buddy Bear Maurice, Poppy
Honey, Daisy Boo and Petal Blossom Rainbow? Seriously? I'm also
not crazy about naming a child Charlie instead of Charles, or
Maggie instead of Margaret, but the poor Oliver children have it
much worse than that.

I think more than weird names I hate normal names with really
screwed up spellings. You are forcing your child to a life of
constant name correction and irritation. It'll be fun when
there name is totally screwed up on their standardized tests,
passports and the like.
