       our mini-ark

my husband and I joke that we have the start of Noah's ark at
our house because everything is in 2's: 2 people, 2 cats, 2
dogs, 2 refrigerators, 2 bicycles.....you get the idea.
Our two dogs are Bonny (2) and Jack (est 7). Both are black lab
mixes and loves people. Jack's mixed with pit, but he's the
"World's Wimpiest Pit" and just want to cuddle - a challenge at
67 pounds, but doable. Bonny's mixed with who-knows-what. We
were told Great Dane, but we suspect some sort of hound. She's
bouncy, but loving. Both love belly rubs.

Bonny and Jack. I don't think Bonny was a year old yet here.

They love each other very much.
And here are los gatos. AKA the Chubsters: Claudio (male) and
Hero (female), both will be 9 later this year (not litter
       mates).

Claudio, the brown one, and Hero, the grey & white cat of DOOM!
Hero has a serious grudge against RainhaDoTexugo. Could be
because she took the cat tree when we moved out of state. Could
be that she often as red hair. I have no idea why my cat hates
gingers. My ExH, her most favorite person in the world, is a
       ginger. Hmmm

       Aw, lovies!
And my Sadie is the wimpiest pit. She gets bossed around by
chihuahuas and is afraid of ANY change. It's kind of funny.

Not from anything we do. LOL! Jack's got that dense, oily
Labrador coat. And he HATES being in the water, on the rare
occasion we bathe him (usually after he's rolled in something
stinky), he gives us the most pathetic, miserable, "Mommy, why
do you hate me?" look with the sad eyes. He gets a go-over with
the flea comb about once a week, but so far this year they've
       left him alone.
Bonny has a very short, soft coat - like a puppy's. And she
loves baths and swimming. The fleas love her too, so she gets
combed and bathed more often. We treated the lawns for fleas
for her. (Mild winter = nasty evil fleas and mosquitoes early!)
       Both get monthly coat treatments.
I need to figure out how to use my camera as a video recorder
and get some footage of them wrestling. They sound so vicious,
but it's all play. And they have such different styles. Bonny
goes for the "float like a butterfly" method, and Jack just
sorta plows into her if she stays in 1 spot too long. We call
him "The Jack Hammer!". Bon sometimes get a few mild scrapes on
her chest from playing, but we've never heard her yelp. She's a
glutton for punishment (even though she can run circles around
       him).
On another note, the cats are now officially banned for all 3
bedrooms. One of them peed in my closet. I lost 1 pair of
shoes (the rest were saved), and fortunately no clothes got hit.
2 rounds of treatment with a carpet shampooer and "Nature
Miracle - Urine Destroyer" and it finally doesn't smell of
anything other than wet carpet! YAY!
They're made of evil, but I still love them.

Bonny definitely has a houndy look to her ears. And ... yep ...
Hero still looks like Ryg. 8)
