Has anyone watched this yet? I just caught up on all the
episodes and I'm sort of digging it. It mostly uses the musical
numbers as actual performances instead of "let's break out in
song to illustrate our feelings" a la Glee or well...every
musical.
And Angelica Huston is still freakin gorgeous.

I'm mostly enjoying it, although I couldn't care less about some
of the drama going on behind the scenes.

I'm really liking it, but the affair thing is making me really
hate Debra Messing's character.

Grrr...the affair is pissing me off to no end. Partly because
the real life drama surrounding the two actors. I try not to let
that sort of thing influence my enjoyment of a show or movie,
but it's really skeeving me out.

On paper I should love this show, and I really really want to
but I'm not as into it as I thought I would be. Possibly
because it seems like they are doing a hack job on Ivy to keep
the audience sympathetic to Karen. I agree though the affair is
unnecessary and just makes me dislike the characters.

On the one hand, her inflating ego and anxiety makes sense, and
I could even care about her if it weren't for her sleeping with
the director. Doofus.

I kind of wish I'd been paying more attention tonight, but I was
having trouble because I dislike Ellis so strongly. But I was
glad to see Eileen start taking some positive steps and not
focusing on Jerry so much, and I think Karen handled the whole
"We may need you to step in. No, just kidding!" thing well.
Ivy needs big girl panties like whoa, because she really doesn't
get what Derek tried to tell her last week: that, regardless of
their relationship outside the studio, inside the studio, she's
just another piece of the puzzle. Not that I don't think he's
narcissistic, but she's not a big enough star to get away with
crap like that.

I wanted to love it. I really did. The cast looked fabulous.
The premise was great and how they were going to work in the
singing and dancing made sense. Then I watched an episode and I
just wanted to get my hour back. I have tried watching a few
other times via ondemand and I just can't get into it. And that
kinda makes me sad because I saw so much potential in the show.

I'm with you Wines. I wanted to love it so bad, I did like the
pilot. I stopped watching after ep 2. I just couldn't pick it up
again. I hear it's getting cancelled.
