Saw it yesterday and thought it was mediocre. I've read some of
the comics and knew that Ra's had a daughter so I felt it was a
pretty safe bet Miranda was going to be it. Lady next to me
gasped though.
I'm good with the ending, not so good with the fact that they're
rebooting it in a couple of years. Ugh. Curse you Hollywood.

They left it open for a NightWing movie.
Otherwise, it felt very fast and disjointed to me. Not enough
batman awesomeness to me. Bane was a great character and I
really liked CatWoman. At the same time, CatWoman was a
complicated woman and we didn't get a good enough look into that
The "twist" at the end was very predictable.

But since not a lot of people know about the Robin -> Nightwing
thing, I don't see that happening. I'm guessing that unless
something goes wrong and JGL pulls out, he's gonna be Batman in
the next movie.
All of it was predictable. I give Nolan points for continuity
with the al Ghuls since a lot of writers lose the plot between
films, but that's about it. The second Alfred told his Venice
story, it was obvious that was going to be the ending.

How did you feel about the sequencing? It felt like it jumped
around a lot and lacked emotion.

I agree. My problem with all the movies was that I prefer my
Batman more campy, Adam West style, so the new dark and gritty
one left me cold. But the previous ones were much more cohesive
than this one.
Not enough Batman to make me care about his fate. I' been
rooting for him to die, preferably from a fall in the prison to
make it less predictable. Nolan tried to bite a bit too much and
failed to chew, even in almost 3 hours of movie. I still have no
idea why that guy wanted his fingerprints, why Catwoman sold him
to Bane (other than she owed him. Why?), where they got the
money to go live in Italy or why the hell other than for ease of
plot were Robin and Gordon the only competent cops. Or how Robin
knew about the cave, while I'm thinking about it. I remember
thinking there were a lot of moments were people jumped from
place to place in less time than batmanly possible, but I can't
name you one now.

I hated that he still used the voice with people who knew he was
Bruce wayne. What was the point of that??
I also hate the "I'm not going to kill you right away, I'm going
to keep you alive to suffer even though you're my greatest
adversary" thing.

Because otherwise there would be no more Batman? I've got

We finally got around to seeing it this weekend.
I do think it would have been better if they'd just killed
Batman off at the end to leave his place for JGL to take over
either as Nightwing or as the next Batman -- I think the latter
is kind of what they were going for with all of the "Batman
could be anyone" talk. The guy wanted his fingerprints to make
the fraudulent stock market trades that bankrupted Wayne (they
apparently had to be verified by fingerprint); Daggett was on
the Wayne board and wanted to absorb Wayne Enterprises into his
own company and could only do that by forcing Wayne off the
board. Bane just used that greed to set up everything else he
was doing.
I think Catwoman sold him out because she couldn't think of
another way to keep Bane from hunting her down and killing her?
I thought it was pretty lame; she seemed smarter than that. I
have no idea how they funded their life in Italy or why none of
the other cops were worth a damn. I think they made Foley an
idiot and a coward to set up his redemption by coming out to
lead the cops in the big fight at the end, since that kind of
seemed to be a theme for the movie, but it was a poor use of
Matthew Modine, in my opinion, and a parody of the obsessive
cop.
As far as I can tell, Robin got the directions to the Batcave
from the bag that Bruce left him in his will. I have no idea
when he wrote that into his will, though, since it didn't seem
to have been changed for a long time.
And how the hell did he get out of the prison and all the way
back to Gotham while broke in record time? For that matter, how
did they get him to it? It seemed remote as all get-out.
