Jerkoid's shower. Interesting.

I was unable to attend the shower for Jerkoid and 5.2's
baby-to-be (5.2.baby), but I got an earful from Oldest Niece.
And it wasn't about Jerkoid.
It seems the Former was incredibly rude at the shower, spending
the majority of his time on the phone either texting or playing
a game.
And while it isn't etiquettely correct, Youngest Niece and her
hub-to-be handed out invitations to their wedding while the
family was gathered. ON said Former acted as if being invited to
YN's wedding was a terrible inconvenience. It hurt YN's
feelings.
My invitation to the wedding was also given to Former, who
didn't mention it until I brought it up when we were discussing
taxes. I wonder if he planned not to give it to me?? YN sent me
a text to ask if I'd gotten it yet. When I told her no, she
texted back, "What's with him? I wish he'd go ahead and give it
to you." He's supposed to come over next week to get some tax
stuff finalized. I hope he brings it to me then.
And Middle Niece's son is hell on wheels, the most ill-behaved
child ever to grace Oldest Niece's house. ON is furious at MN
for her lack of parenting: all threats and no follow-through.
Just like Evil Ex-SIL. "Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do
that. Oh well, go ahead and do it, just don't bother me with
it."
BTW, I am going to be in Jerkoid and 5.2's city of residence in
the near future, and I invited him to lunch (she commutes to
another city). Have I gotten an answer? Of course not.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. I'll keep
you posted if I hear from Jerkoid or something else happens.
5.2.baby is due in May.

Oh dear.
Sorry to hear that the Former is having etiquette failure.
Hopefully it's just an aberration.

He's doing a LOT of things that don't seem like him. I can't
believe I was married to that man for so long. :(
