When is it polite and appropriate to share church info?

I'm a Candidate for Unitarian Universalist ministry- will
graduate and be ordained spring 2013. Quite a few people have no
idea what the blazes UUs are, or believe.
So, when I hear somebody talking about their own beliefs, and
the fact they currently don't have a church/feel alienated from
their church/don't think a church would welcome them- how do I
politely, without seeming like a door to door evangelist, say to
them "Hey, why not try us- we'd welcome you just like you are."
And for those who don't know us- we're the ones who are
       LGBTQ/Pagan/Atheist/Agnostic/Humanist/all religion friendly. I
have no problem not saying anything to someone who is happy in
their own status- but, for example, a lot of solitary Wicans and
pagans just don't know we're there- and we have lovely Wiccan
and pagan groups at most churches who love new folks

I think that if the other person has brought it up, it's an OK
topic of conversation. Maybe just say something like "Well, if
you want, you could drop by mine some Sunday and see if you like
it." And then as long as you don't harp, I think you're fine!
       :)

I don't see anything wrong with exactly what you've said, if
someone has expressed an interest in going to church and
dissatisfaction with their current one then it's hardly putting
pressure on them to suggest your own!

I'd follow their lead. If they are the ones bringing it up, and
you get the sense that they might like somewhere to be, then by
       all means mention it.
Or is there a broader way to let these groups know that there is
a setting that would be friendly to them? Have you approached
existing church members who are also members of these groups to
see if they have suggestions or methods for getting the word out
that you are a friendly place and would be welcoming?

Since they brought it up, I'd go ahead and ask "have you ever
heard of Unitarian Universalist ministry?" and perhaps "Would
you be interested in getting more information about them?"

Actually, largely in part to my interactions with you, I've been
seriously considering checking out some of the UUC's in my area.
We don't have kids yet, but I'd like them to be a part of a
spiritual community as they grow up and the UU approach appeals
       to me.
