I don't have one, but Cathy's thread on the other forum was one
of my favorites, so post yours!
(This makes me miss Dazi -- is she here, by chance?)

Nope, no stories either but I want to make sure I get a front
row seat for when they start coming! :)

I'll repost mine as well...perhaps the banned would like to read
the old ghost stories. Although I have to admit mine aren't
nearly as scary as most.
All of these stories center around my aunt’s house outside of
Tampa, FL (on a lake). When she and my uncle were building
their house, they decided to have a picnic dinner in the
then-unfinished living room to look at the progress the workers
made. While they’re eating, my aunt hears a low moan start from
the back of the house and travel down the hallway. Now my uncle
is hard of hearing, so she pretended she didn’t hear anything
until she saw him stop eating and the hairs on the back of his
neck stood up. They looked at each other, and my uncle says,
“Did you hear that?”
A: “Uh-huh.”
U: “Want to leave?”
A: “Uh-huh.”
And they high-tailed it out of there.
Another time before the house was completed, my uncle’s son (LA)
from a previous marriage was fishing from a fallen cypress tree,
with my aunt watching from the back porch. She sees a small
orange ball drift slowly on the lake just in front of LA. Once
it passed him, the orange ball shot across the lake and
disappeared into the vacant lot next door. LA (who is just like
his father), slowly gathered up his fishing gear, walked back up
to the porch, and told my aunt he wanted to leave-NOW.
More in the next post…

My uncle’s sister (C) was visiting, and the next morning at the
breakfast table, she asked her brother if he had heard something
in the middle of the night. It sounded like something falling
on the hardwood floor. He heard it, but my aunt hadn’t. She
figured one of the dogs had knocked down one of the baby gates,
until she remembered that all the gates were up that morning.
She looked around, and a stack of silver chargers that were on
the dining room table were now on the floor next to the table.
Perhaps one of the large dogs had knocked them off the table in
the middle of the night, and that’s what C heard. Except that
if a dog had knocked them off, they wouldn’t be in a neat stack
on the carpet!
My personal experience involved doors that didn’t not shut (if
that makes sense). If a door was pushed, it closed. This story
and the next one took place in my aunt and uncle’s guest house.
During my three night stay there, I was awakened one night
around 2:30 with a dog panting in my face. No big deal…I just
walked the dog back to the living room, and I went back to bed.
The next night, I didn’t want to be woken by a dog again, so I
made sure the doors leading to the bedroom were shut. I woke up
around 2:30 again, this time for no apparent reason. One of the
doors leading into the bedroom (which is right by the head of
the bed) is standing wide open. Had I been in my right mind, I
would have quickly fled the room for the safety of my aunt and
uncle’s room, but I was very sleepy, so I just shut the door and
went back to bed. I told my aunt what had happened the previous
two nights. She shook the first night off as me not shutting
the door very well, but the second night creeped her out,
especially when we tried to NOT shut the doors (just leave them
“almost-shut”). That state did not exist. The doors were open
or close only, no in between. And no, the dogs did not know how
to open doors. ;-)
My last story comes from my father who is not easily scared, nor
does he make things up. He and my mom were staying in the guest
house for a weekend visit. While hanging clothes up in the
closet he felt a hand softly touch him on his back. Thinking it
was my mom, he turned around, but no one was there. He didn’t
go into the guest house alone for the rest of the trip, and to
this day, he won’t talk about that story.

More stories! Courtesy of DH’s brother (Stone). DH, Stone, and
I were up late telling ghost stories one night, which meant I
didn’t get any sleep that night!
Some background: We’re talking about a VERY religious family.
Archer’s dad is one of 13 kids, and the house they grew up in
was formerly a hotel, then a boarding school. Allegedly, while
it was a hotel, a cop/sheriff’s deputy shot and killed an
escaped fugitive (in shackles and all) in one of the bedrooms.
When they would eat at the dinner table, they could hear someone
walking down the stairs then walking back up, with chains
hitting each stair.
One time Grandma Archer was walking upstairs when she heard
someone following her up the stairs, with chains dragging the
steps. She turned around and said, “Who in God’s name is
there?” The footsteps stopped, then went back down the stairs.
One uncle could never get to sleep without the lights on in that
house because every time he turned off his bedside lamp, his bed
would start shaking and you could hear children laughing under
the bed. When he turned the light back on, the laughter and
bed-shaking stopped. So, he turned off the light, and the same
thing happened again. He turned the light back on, and,
thinking that his older brother was playing a trick on him
looked under the bed…of course, nothing was there. Some 40-plus
years later, he STILL sleeps with the lights on.
Stone had this experience last week and it scared the
ever-lovin’ out of me. It was a fairly cool night for April, so
he closed the windows and turned his heater on, then went to
bed. He never dreams, but on this night, boy did he! He
dreamed he was at a massive revival. Archer and I were there,
along with other friends and family he recognized. There were a
few trippy things in the dream, but the most notable was when
the speaker/preacher said “I’ll be *darned* if I let the devil
get a hold of you!” At that moment, demons started rising out of
people, Rock included. He woke up with his back arched up on
the bed and feeling like the breath was being pulled out of him.
The window above his bed was open. He was freezing; so cold in
fact, that he could see his breath, but his heater read the room
temperature as 80 degrees. He flipped on the lights and shut
the window, but things still felt “wrong.” He opened his
(locked) bedroom door to see if any of his housemates were
awake, but they weren’t. After a few minutes, the feeling was
gone, and at the precise moment he felt at ease again, he said
the room heated by at least 10 degrees, then his heater kicked
back on. The time he woke up? 3:01.

I'll post one, even though it is goofy.
Dh and I were visiting my in-laws, who live in an old house in
Vermont that was once a schoolhouse. DH and I were watching a
television program about, well, ghosts. A man on screen was
talking about an encounter he had where he heard the ghost ask
him "Why are you here?" Being silly, a minute later, my husband
leaned over behind my head and whispered "Why are you here?" to
make me jump. I laughed and told him to cut it out. He did it
again as I went down the stairs in front of him later that
night- quickly whispering "Why are you here?" and again, I
swatted at him with a laugh and told him to stop trying to scare
me. A few minute later, I went to the kitchen sink to wash my
hands and face, and while I had my dripping face in the towel,
again there was a whisper in my ear "Why are you here?" So I
whipped around to swat at my husband, only he wasn't there. He
was at the other end of the house, talking to his father.
I can only guess I may have encountered a playful spirit? To
this day, I would swear in a court of law that I heard that last
whisper as clear as day.
