This year's challenge

---------------------------------------------------------
So this year I decided to do a new year's resolution/challenge,
largely because my boyfriend has done one this year and last
year and I felt I should do something. :P
There are four sections for this challenge, and mostly involve
some sort of self-improvement over time. They are:
- 10 places. I don't really leave the house much and spend a lot
of time online. As such I have decided to force myself to do
things outdoors more, particularly things I would not otherwise
do normally. Things that are new to me, may take me out of my
comfort zone or would have a degree of difficulty to them. I
think I will go hiking around Katoomba, visit the jenolan caves
and go to the beach.
- 20 images. I used to like playing around with designing
layouts or tinkering with paint programs. I've decided I will
try to learn photoshop and increase my ability with such tools.
Things that count towards the 'imagery' portion of my challenge
will include drawings, making signatures, layouts, covers and
the sort. This will probably be the more difficult of my
challenges just by virtue of my lack of skills and how much time
it will take to learn. I don't have to master it within the
year, but the point is to get 20 images done while practising
and learning new techniques and watch as over time the images
start to improve the further into the year I go.
- 30 books. I haven't read as much as I used to over the past
two years so I thought I would get stuck back into it. This
challenge was proving a bit too easy at first, as I started a
bit late yet managed to get over a month ahead of schedule. I am
back behind schedule at the moment, but I'm suspect I will catch
back up before long. Mostly I will read whatever I feel like,
but I am aiming to also read some books that are classics or
ones I might not otherwise read. To put more of a challenge in
this one, I might also make a point of writing a review for each
book.
- 40 blog posts. I slack of in blogging a bit, and I thought I
might challenge myself to actually post things. Hopefully
interesting things. This one is a bit delayed at the moment for
various reasons, but hopefully I'll get on with it soon.
I think I will write any book reviews and link any images here,
not only so it's all together and for my own convenience, but if
anyone wishes to give suggestions or criticisms they are welcome
to. I am a bit lacking in ideas for places and what themes for
imagery I should use. Also I welcome any feedback on items I do
get done.

I finally got to visit Jenolan Caves last year. It was awesome.
There are so many caves though, so either head out there early
or go a few times. I have a vague recollection that they also
had some sort of guided cave hike, so perhaps that might be of
interest too. Comfy shoes are a must - the walk from the upper
carparks to the caves was a killer!
