I am so excited to see the movie, but I will be seeing it the
2nd weekend it is out, as I will be out of town opening weekend.
And that kind of sucks!
As for the ending of the book, I wish she has left the epilogue
off, but otherwise, the death of Finnick really upset me..but I
do like how she didn't try to cover up what war can turn the
people fighting it into, and the devastation that it can wreck.

I was chillaxing with friends this weekend when yet another
person told me, "Read the first book; it's awesome. Pretend the
series ended after that."
So I bought the first one on Kindle, started reading it around
7pm, and when I looked up a few minutes later after having
finished it, it was 3am. I really enjoyed the fact that it has a
badass female lead. That's the sort of thing teenage girls ought
to be reading, and it sort of renewed my faith in young adult
fiction.
Want movie to be out nooooow.

Madhatter, I hated the ending of the first book the most. Two
and three felt as a natural continuation for the most part
(though they have their bad parts), but I don't know if I'd
recommend anyone stop after book 1 ;).

Addie, I'm about to start reading the second one. Obviously I
must know what happens. ;) I've had a few people tell me that
the other two books made them wish the first had a definitive
conclusion, but I'm blocking all that out because I want more!

I liked the other books. I think the story would have felt
unfinished if she had stopped at the first book. The won the
Games, and then what? They just return to District 12 and carry
on as if nothing has changed? I would have been ticked off at
that kind of ending. ;D

Or ran out of chapter space since she confines herself to 27
chapters split into 3 "acts".

I too am planning on buying advance tickets on Tuesday for the
opening show. I am picking up oldest early from school as a
treat and we are seeing the first showing. Well it isn't for
her it's for me, I hate crowds and hope no one is going at noon
on Friday.

I realized this past Friday that I screwed myself: I scheduled
my wisdom tooth surgery for opening day. I'm going to be too
drugged out to go opening weekend. :'(

We've opted to skip opening weekend and go up to Milwaukee
earlier than originally planned the next week.
Yeah, it's a week later, but bonus smaller crowds and no Chicago
movie prices. Ugh.

I sooooooo want to go to a midnight showing at the theater near
me, but I have to be at work at 8:30 the next morning and can't
afford to miss....
So, I think I'll see it on Saturday.
