Well, she'd been no stranger to death and sacrifice and
suffering and unfairness and desperation her whole life. Seems
like she'd always been able to force herself to move forward.
And she killed Coin with little more than Snow's word and wild
speculation - even when she knew her public influence would have
been enough to get rid of her.

I don't know, Coin could have played the mentally unstable card
and gotten rid of her. There's no need for heroes once the
revolution is over.
Overall, I think the ending was brutal enough to match the rest
of the book. No one comes out smelling of roses (except for
Peeta, but he's the one good guy throughout the book). I'm still
bitter they killed Finnick tbh.

Finnick's death upset me way more than Prim's. I'm not even sure
I will want to go see the last movie in theatres because I fully
expect to bawl my eyes out.

I think when Snow made his claim it just clicked together for
Katniss and she knew all they were doing was trading one tyrant
for another. It had to be done. I agree that Coin would have
gotten rid of Katniss in a second once the war was won. She
never would have let someone else with that much influence
survive.

I thought she was already messed up by her previous life, she
was so angry and kind of stunted emotionally. Throwing her into
the arena just brought on full blown PTSD. It seems like all the
winners of the games were ruined by them, look at Haymitch and
Finnick. I think her point was that it's not something that you
can really bounce back from.
At any rate, it was refreshing to have a female main character
in a book for teens who's not at all interested in pursuing
romance, even though it's kind of pushed on her. This is one
movie that i'm hopeful will pass the Bechdel test.

Well, no, obviously not bounce back from. But, she would have
built up a lifetime of capably dealing with these things. In the
past, conflict and strife made her stronger and the only time
she truely crumbled was in her down time.
As for her romances - I saw it completely differently. I saw it
as the typical "torn between two lovers" thing.

I wasn't thrilled with how the end was written, as much as I
loved the rest of it. It just felt like she took 3 books
detailing in a very enthralling manner how everything came to be
in regards to Katniss, and then she took 3 pages to wrap it up.
Almost felt like she ran out of time and just jammed it all in
with less finesse.
