       Sims 3

So I started playing Sims 3 since I got a couple new expansions.
       My funny sim story:
I decided to make a character that's modeled after myself and
one that's modeled after my boyfriend. I didn't have them start
off living together as I wanted to see how they'd take to each
other. So I made my boyfriend with traits that he has and gave
him a cat, set him up in an apartment and left him to his free
will while I played my female Sim.
They meet and I find out he now has a bunch of kittens as well
as his cat and has a job as a stylist. (This with character
traits like computer techie and loner). And then we have a
conversation and all seems fine and he stops abruptly in the
middle to go pee (I totally understand that nature calls). The
next time we meet up and talk, he's clutching his stomach and a
toilet is in his thought bubble. For some reason he doesn't go
to the bathroom this time and pees himself. That's when I make
       my exit.
I found this all so incredibly amusing.
So what's your funny Sims story?

I got Sims Medieval for Christmas, bought 3 about a month ago
and just got around to installing it a few days ago and I'm
still getting used to the setup as my previous Sims experience
was only with the original version and there are certainly a lot
       of major changes!
My core pack came with the Ambitions expansion which I haven't
installed yet, I will probably buy Pets and install that before
Ambitions. Anyway, so far I'm having a ball making sims with
difficult traits. I like having pets and I feel kind of naked
without them in my world. I always had houses full of cats (what
       else? :P)
I also get a kick watching them cook in their underwear. I
really don't have any funny 3 stories yet (have a ton with
Medieval) other than I started a Sim who makes his living
singing for money in the park rather than take a career path,
but he was tired of being broke so he hooked up with a
successful lady and I had them have kids one after the other and
stretched their lifelines out as long as possible, so they are
babies for 64 days and so forth.
I guess I like to make things as hard as possible when I play.
I'm going to see if I can get a full house though but I'm kind
of stretched to the limit with 3 crying babies and a toddler. I
think I'll wait until at least 2 of them are kids and can go to
       school.
I've got some screen shots started so maybe we can tell our
stories with photos or videos because I totally love looking at
       the screencaps.

I like going to the Sims forums and reading the legacy stories.
That's my only Sims fix for now since I only have my laptop at
       my parents' house right now.
I'm loving the Pets expansion, though. I made an exact copy of
my dog, down to the individual spots on his back (not the
ticking, just the big ones on his fur). The face needs some
work, though. But just the fact that I can actually *do* that is
amazing - I love the customization options that are available
       now!
You guys are just going to have to help me get my fix
vicariously! I'm not sure my laptop will run Sims 3, and even if
it did the disks are way in the back of my storage unit.

I just started taking screen shots so I'm going to post some up
when I get a fair few. I threw a pool party at my house last
night and it was really busy and there was tons going on. I
didn't realize until after the party was over that 2 guests had
apparently drowned in the pool. I saw the message in the corner
of my screen. I was like "Oh man, and I didn't even get to see
       it!"
I love browsing Sim forums and reading all the stories too!
I think I'm going to buy Pets within the next day or so. I will
just download it from Amazon because I don't think the game
store in my little rinky dink town even had that one in stock
when I bought the Deluxe version. I really really like having
pets in my world, it seems very naked without cats and dogs
       roaming the neighborhood!

Sorry to bump this again but I was reading about the Pets EP and
there seems to be a lot of negative feedback about it not
loading and/or being glitchy due to not having a strong enough
graphics card. My PC seems to meet the requirements but people
were still complaining that the game is glitchy. I had my PC
built last year and I think I just have a regular all purpose
one installed. I'm hesitant to spend the money buying Pets if
it's not going to run properly, so have you guys had any
problems with running Pets yourself? I don't want to spend the
money on it if I can't play it. Upgrading my PC isn't an option
       at the moment.

Pets is the first EP I've had that's made my game crash
constantly. It's driving me mad. I finally made it work by
lowering the graphic settings, but I'm not happy (and keep in
mind my computer is less than 6 months old).

I haven't had issues with Pets, aside from the initial install
(it would NOT install for me..I had to jump through hoops
because my AVG decided it was The Enemy). The patches, however,
almost always screw my game up. The latest one has made it so
that my sims and pets don't have icons and I can't control them.

Me too. I never had issues with the games up until Sims 2
Apartment Life. Every install after that has been a mass of
       glitches, errors, and problems.

I'm having a heck of a time with the bugs and crashes. I have
all the latest patches and so far no EPs installed at all. I was
holding off on installing Ambitions because I was afraid of
       having more bugs and crashes.
Anyway, I was unable to save my game at all last night and I
save fairly regularly. I've gotten two various error save codes
in the one short week I've been playing Sims 3. I tried the
supposed workaround for the error 12 save thing but it didn't
work. I got so frustrated I scrapped my town and sims and
started over. I hate investing all the time and effort into
building my sims up and losing or having to resort back to a
much earlier save. My PC might not be top of the line, but it's
not a hunk of junk either and I only bought it in February of
2011...and I only have problems with Sims. I had some problems
with Medieval too, but I thought considering Sims 3 was out for
a few years that they would have had their major bugs fixed by
now, lol. I hate the feeling of not knowing when something's
going to go wrong. I never had any problems with the original
       Sims.
