I had a really hard time with the beginning of that book too. I
didn't like it all until the last half or so. I thought the
second and third books were a LOT better than the first.

Stiff is great, you'll love it! She has one about space, too,

I'm currently reading The Great Night by Chris Adrian. It's a
modern-day retelling of a Midsummer Night's Dream. Pretty good
so far..I'm only two chapters in.

I devoured the sample of it and will buy the whole thing today.
And it's only natural that I would get back on a reading kick
when the time changes and I'm sleep deprived enough as it is.

Loved "Stiff", and keep telling hubby he needs to get the
"Packing for Mars" to me soon.
And this is where I love my husband's family, when we told them
we were reading "Stiff: the Curious Lives of Human Cadavers",
they pretty much all went "ooooh, where did you get it" or
"hmmmm, I need to get that book".

Then that is another author I must go looking for. And I'm
pretty sure I will want it as a paper copy instead of electronic
- easier to flip back and forth through pages. ;D

Just finished the first three Elmore Leonard books in the Raylan
Givens series. Reading a book called Run that I picked up for
free on Amazon.
Stieg Larssons books are next on my list. I thought the Hunger
Games were a young adult series. I was going to skip reading
them. Apparently I shouldn't?

No! You shouldn't. I would say they're young adult in the
sense that there's nothing overly graphic in them, but the story
absolutely appeals to adults as well.

Currently I'm rereading Oathblood by Mercedes Lackey.
I'm reading the UK version of Harry Potter to my boyfriend. (He
doesn't really want to read it, but likes to hear me tell
stories so this is our compromise. :P)
I've been told I should read the Hunger Games as well, but I
just get past the influence of Battle Royale...

I'm currently reading "Moby Dick," and while it started strong-
where Ishmael meets Queequeg and sets out to find a ship, ever
since they've been on the Pequod, it's been a real slog to read.
Especially the chapter titled "Cetology" were he details the
different types of whales. I will finish the book, but I am
wondering why it is so acclaimed.
