Preparing For Winter The Car!!

---------------------------------------------------------
1. Make a backpack up with cups, spoons, 6 tea bags, 2 hot
chocolates, and if you want coffee.
Have powdered milk and sugar also... have some hard
candies in a container so even if it gets
warm and they happen to melt they don't go all over.
2. Have a couple of bags of chips or pretzels, also a deck of
cards, a favourite pocket book to read,
also depending on how many children you have a toy they
would play with or even a game of
battleship.
3. For each person who rides in the car have a green garbage
bag and two grocery bags. These are
to keep the heat in. Place the grocery bags over boots
or if the children are older put inbetween
socks and boots. The green bag, overtop of clothes...
this will help keep heat in...
4. Next try to have a blanket for each person this is as
easy as sitting on the blanket. Thus extra
coverage...
5. have candles and matches in seperate and dry bags...
best to have lots of matches and at least
10 tealight candles...
6. I have one of those containers that plug into the
lighter for heating up liquids... if you are going
on a trip that lasts more than two hours fill up an old
pop bottle with water and put it in the
trunk...
7. Have a first aid kit with any pills or medications you
may need replace this once a week or keep
it at the door near your keys so you never forget it!!
8. Have a good flashlight, two if possible and a set of
extra batteries.
9. Carry a cell phone even one that you no longer use as
long as it is charged you can make a 911
call.
10. Never go out if a storm has already started, better to
stay warm one more day than leave and
be stranded in the middle of no where, but hopefully
these tips will help..
Also carry in your trunk an extra wiper blade, even one that you
replaced as long as it works a little is
better than nothing. Carry a foldable shovel, carry some dirt,
flares, chains, battery boaster cables...
Also a can of tire inflate and belts....
