       JEWEL DROPS
       1 cup Butter
       1 cup Brown Sugar
       1 Egg
       1 tsp. Vanilla
       1 1/2 cups Sifted All-Purpose Flour
       1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
       1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
       1/2 tsp. Salt
       1 cup Rolled Oats
       1 cup Gumdrop Pieces (Omit Black Ones)
       1/2 cup Chopped Nuts
       Cream butter and sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in
       egg and vanilla.
       Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Gradually add
       to creamed mixture. Stir in oats, gumdrops and nuts, which have
       been mixed together.
       Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets.
       Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown and done, about
       12 to 14 minutes.
       Makes about 5 dozen.
