So you want to join the Rickyl Writers' Group? Awesome! Here's
what you need to know.
First, familiarize yourself with our Rules and Policies
HTML http://rickylwritersgroup.tumblr.com/rules.
They're pretty
simple and basically boil down to two main requirements: 1) Love
Rickyl, and 2) Be nice to your fellow RWG members.
Here are some frequently asked questions about membership:
I'd like to join but I'm very busy with school/work/drooling
over that one gif of bearded Rick in the rain wearing a brown
shirt. Is there a requirement that I have to create a certain
amount of fanworks to be a member?
There are no requirements for participation whatsoever. We have
monthly challenges and sometimes some more spontaneous writing
sprints and mini-challenges and you're encouraged to participate
in those, but they aren't required. You could join the group and
never write a single word or create a single piece of art and
you'd still be welcome! Really, this is all about forming a
community, not just about cranking out fanworks.
This is the Rickyl Writers' Group, and I'm not a writer. Can I
still be part of the community?
Of course! When this group first started, it consisted of just
five or six of us who were all writers, so we called ourselves
the Rickyl Writers' Group. And then as we grew, we started
welcoming people who weren't writers and just never changed the
name, lol. But anyway, yes, you can join! We now welcome
writers, artists, gifmakers, vidmakers, photo manipulators,
podficcers, betas, cheerleaders, songwriters, interpretive dance
choreographers, and people who train rats to run through mazes
in the shape of "RICKYL" while wearing little rat-sized
angel-wing vests, among other things. So as long as you love
Rickyl... join us!
I am a multi-shipper and I do ship Rick and Daryl with other
people. Am I still allowed to join?
Multi-shippers are welcome! However, since this is a Rickyl
group, we will only post about/promote works that have Rickyl as
a primary pairing. But sure, as long as you also ship Rickyl,
ship whatever else you want!
I'm a member of another Rickyl group. Can I still join this one?
Sure, the more the merrier! Just don't teach anyone from your
other group our super-secret RWG handshake.
There's a handshake?
No. Not really.
Do I have to have a Tumblr or AO3 account to join?
No, you can join without either of those accounts. You will need
to provide an email address or some other way to contact you if
you don't have a Tumblr, though, since that's how we usually
communicate things. And you'll want to check our Tumblr page or
this forum regularly to find out what we're up to lately.
Who do I ask if I have questions about joining and membership?
Skarlatha is our membership admin, so you can message her on her
Tumblr
HTML http://skarlatha.tumblr.com
or the RWG Tumblr
HTML http://rickylwritersgroup.tumblr.com
, or leave a message on the
forum. You can ask any of the other admins questions too, but
Skari is your first line of defense against the horrors of
unanswered questions.
You think you're funny, don't you, Skari?
I am fucking hilarious, yo. Don't question it. I tried to get
that put in the membership rules ("Never question Skari's level
of hilarity for it is always the maximum possible level") but
the other admins wouldn't let me get away with it.
Okay, I'm ready to join! What do I do?
It's super easy! Just fill out our Joining Form
HTML https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1VtAtwlNJyA8cN_odsBbsrFduE2ST15zozmyFv9ROkXw/viewform!<br
/>All applications are accepted unless you say something really
mean in your text boxes and/or don't check "yes" on the "I agree
to the rules" box. We do go through the applications manually
though, so it might take a couple of days before you get an
official welcome, but you can assume you're in!
