The Associated Press he doesn't have immediate reports of damage
or injuries because communications are down for much of the
island. He said officials in the large southern coastal city of
Ponce told him there was widespread damage.

My mother-in-law in the San Juan metropolitan area felt it even
though the quake was centered almost 50 miles southwest of her
location. My brother-in-law and his wife were less than 5 miles
from the epicenter. He told my wife his bed was jerking 3
inches 👀 back and forth during the quake. Needless to
say, they didn't sleep a wink after that.
