Agelbert NOTE: This is the syllabus for Daniel Sheehan's UCSC
course titled "The Trajectory of Justice in America: 2019". It
covers a series of heinous events in American History that you
may have never heard about, but which you need to know about,
particulary now (this is not an idle academic exercise - your
life and that of your offspring depend on obtaining this
knowledge and using it effectively).
You will learn of the mindboggling level of corruption in U.S.
government that consistently causes it to plan, execute and
defend totally undemocratic, unethical, polluting and murderous
policies that now threaten our very survival as a species. This
is not hyperbole.
It may come as a surprise for you, but this 5 credit hour course
makes the case that the MAIN reason that Donald Trump must be
impeached AND removed from the White House is his ecocidal,
polluter defending policies.
The Democrats are not given any praise here either. Hillary
Clinton's policy plans for dealing with climate change were,
like Obama's, in the right direction, but still inadequate to
avoid Catastrophic Climate Change.

I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is a 5 credit spring quarter class providing
undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to become
experts on the specifics of the science and U.S. politics of
climate change, the ongoing process of the potential impeachment
of Donald J. Trump, and the Standing Rock Movement against the
Dakota Access pipeline, with special emphasis on the role of
private military security company Tiger Swan and the legal
defense of former congressional candidate and Standing Rock
tribal member Chase Iron Eyes.

What a great find.
I was not aware of the Romero Institute. I wondered if it were
named for the murdered cleric, and checked to see. It is.
Even though Romero didn’t openly embrace the movement, his
defense of the poor and criticisms of the Salvadoran government
dovetailed with liberation theology’s aims. He was murdered the
day after he told a peasant army the they were murdering their
brethren.
A little known fact about Romero is that he had ties to Opus
Dei. Don't know what to make of that.
When I read about Romero and other martyr priests that saw
against the Vatican tide, I am reminded of the words of Dom
Helder Camara:
“When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask
why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.”

Thank you. I completely had missed the Romero reference! My
cousin Raul Julia did a movie starring as that famous Bishop
Romero that got got killed for advocating for justice and the
defense of the poor and downtrodden.
Raulito, as he was known in the family, had always been an
"Independentista" in Puerto Rico. The Independentista Political
Party in Puerto rico is 100% Socialist.
Sure, he made lots of money in Hollywood, but he was a Socialist
through and through and donated large sums of money throughtout
his life for socialist causes.

That said, Raulito was no saint. He liked to fool around way
too much without thinking through the downstream sibling strife
effect of "extra" children fathered by him, as the strife among
the offspring he left behind from different women now evidences.

I had a friend down in Puerto Rico that educated me about Opus
Dei. His father, an erudite man of color, was a staunch Catholic
and wanted to become a member of Opus Dei. They refused to
accept him because he was born out of wedlock (no "bastards"
allowed in the holier than thou Opus Dei, don'tcha know?).
I don't know what Bishop Romero's connection to Opus Dei, a
fascist/elitist organisation to the core, was. However, he may
have become a member in his youth, not knowing the full deal
there, and just never bothered to reisgn, hoping to work within
to reform them.
The name, "Opus Dei" (Latin for "The Work of God"), is, in
practice, an Orwellian title. I can see how a young, idealistic
man who took the "Opus Dei" label at face value would be
attracted to them.
Opus Dei is now known by its rotten fruit. I'm sure Bishop
Romero figured that out early on.
I am looking forward to watching the full series of videos in
this USCS course ✨, and will continue to post them here
in chronological order.
For those readers who do not know Surly's background, he is a
walking multi-volume source of accurate American History and
Politics. He can discuss virtually any subject with considerable
erudition and has far more patience than I do when engaging
confrontational posters.
So, for those reading this that don't want to talk to me, feel
free to register and comment on Surly's posts. He will respect
your arguments, even if he disagrees with them. IMHO, you need
to bring a very large sandwich if you plan to win a debate with
him, but I am sure you will be the better for it if you DO

The Madisonians (also known as the Intuitionists,
Anti-Federalsts, Democratic Republicans or Jeffersonians),
against the will of the Hamiltonians, got the Bill of Rights
into the Constitution. The Hamiltonians were the ones who wanted
to kill off all the Native Americans ("Manifest Destiny"
murderous arrogance), take their land and "develop" it for the
"invisible hand" of 😈 Capitalism.
The Intuitionists vociferously disagreed. The Intuitionists had
great ideas but they weren't saints. They became the bulk of the
Democratic Republicans from the Southern States that ignored the
"inalienable human rights" they championed when it came to
African Americans. 😠
The Hamiltonians didn't like slavery simply because, being
utilitarian empathy deficit disordered bean counting Capitalists
to the core, they much preferred employing somebody for peanuts
and not having to house or feed them, while, OF COURSE, making
sure the Laws of the Land gave businesses no liability for
damages suffered by the workers or for pollution damage to the
environment (See: "Corporate Limited Liability" Hamiltonian
SCAM). So, the Hamiltonians made lots of noises about the
"evils" of slavery and pushed for "NO SLAVERY" conditions for
new states after all the "savages" had been cleared for
Capitalism.
As you can surmise, slavery was a point of contention between
the Federalists/Hamiltonians and Intuitionists/Democratic
Republicans 💵 business models [img

ethical treatment of African Americans!
The slavery issue was joined at the business model hip with the
Southern States. The Federalists sought to fight that by, in
addition to the frequent publishing of the "Slavery is Evil but
killing Native Americans is God's Work" duplicitous rhetoric,
weakening the power of Southern States with new "non-slavery"
States AND increasing Corporate Banking power through Legal
Tender Laws and Fractional Reserve Banking, all backed by the
power of the increasingly powerful Federal Government.
The Southern States were not amused.
So, the tension between the two "business models" blew up with
the Civil War. Slavery, only in the "business model" context,
not in the "abuse of humans" context, was the cause of the Civil
War, as evidenced by the fact that the Emancipation Proclamation
came AFTER the Civil War had started.
Lincoln, before the Civil War, was in no hurry to end slavery,
even though he was against it. The Emancipation Proclamation was
a successful tactic to get African Americans in the South to NOT
fight for the Confederate cause or help them in any way. It
worked to help defeat the Confederates. 👍
The "States' Rights" issue is a giant bag of rhetorical worms
(negative AND positive) that I won't go into, but keep in mind
that the Intuitionists championed States' Rights in the
Constitution (Powers not enumerated belong to the people), which
was a good thing. 👍 The fact that the Democratic
Republicans used that to defend slavery is a misapplication of a
great legal human rights principle. It should not keep us, in
the present, from using this tenet to fight ☠️
oligarchic, elitist Bankster power the Hamiltonians have ALWAYS
been all about. If they are not removed from power VERY, VERY
SOON, we are all dead.
