[move]Booming Cruise Industry :o Reports Better-Than-Expected
Passenger Numbers in 2015[/move]

The Cruise Lines International Association has bumped up its
passenger predictions for 2016 after numbers showed that the
industry surpassed its 2015 passenger projections.
According to CLIA, the industry reported a total of 23.2 million
passengers on ocean cruises globally in 2015, up from a
projection of 23 million, and a 4-percent increase over 2014. As
a result of steady year-over-year increases, CLIA has modified
2016 expectations and is now predicting 24.2 million travelers
will set sail on ocean cruises around the world.
A statement from CLIA says the numbers show that the industry is
stronger than ever, coming during a period where pretty much
every other maritime sector is struggling.
“The success in 2015 demonstrates the cruise industry’s
continued strength in the overall travel sector,” said Cindy
D’Aoust, president and CEO, CLIA. “This is a direct result of
the amazing work and commitment of our community of Cruise
Lines, Executive Partners and Travel Agencies and Agents. Plus,
with the highest satisfaction rates among all leisure travel
segments, it reflects that a cruise vacation is the vacation of
choice for travelers around the world.”
CLIA says that Much of the industry’s growth can be attributed
to emerging regions of the world, particularly in Asia and
Australia.
In 2015, Asia experienced the most growth year over year in
ocean cruise passengers with another impressive 24% increase
from 2014 to 2015, with a total of more than 2 million ocean
cruise passengers in 2015. While Asia continues to see record
growth in the cruise industry, Australia is not far behind. The
region, which includes Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific,
experienced an incredible 14% increase in ocean cruise
passengers from 2014 to 2015. Last year, a total of more than
1.1 million ocean cruise travelers originated in Australia.
“When looking at the travel industry, cruise travel has
astonishing long-term growth potential since it represents only
two percent of the total leisure travel market, has the highest
satisfaction rates among global travelers and is growing in
popularity,” CLIA said in a statement. “In fact, according to
the United Nations World Tourism Organization, in the decade
between 2004 and 2014, global cruise vacations have grown faster
in popularity than land-based vacations by a 20-percent margin.”
Of course this growth has not gone unnoticed by cruise lines,
with new ship orders from just about every major cruise company
such as Carnival and Royal Caribbean. In 2016, a total of 27 new
ocean, river, and specialty cruise ships are scheduled for
delivery, according to CLIA figures.

Agelbert NOTE: In the book Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, a
drug called "Soma" is hugely popular. The Cruise Ship Industry
is a "Soma" metaphor. Soma is a governmentally provided drug
to the people living in the Brave New World. It represents a way
to escape pain, discomfort, etc. IOW, escape from REALITY.

When it comes to good PR, the entire tick family can’t catch a
break. Not only are all ticks parasitic, but they can also serve
as vectors for disease. While the best known tick-borne illness
is Lyme Disease (an infectious disease caused by bacteria
carried by numerous tick species), there’s also a really
unpleasant side effect from the bite of the, rather ironically
named, lone star tick.
When most people think of the phrase “lone star”, they probably
think of Texas, a state whose nickname is “The Lone Star State”
(because of it’s red, white, and blue flag with a single star).
The lone star tick is named such because the pattern on its body
looks like a single star. The irony comes into play when you
consider that people associate Texas, the lone star state, with
beef because of its current and historical ties with the cattle
industry, but a bite from a lone star tick can induce an allergy
to red meat.

Although the effect of the bite and the ensuing development of
the allergy is still under study, the bite appears to give the
victim an allergy to Galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose, a
carbohydrate found in the cell membranes of non-primate mammals.
You read that last bit correctly, the lone star tick’s bite will
make you allergic to everything from hamburgers to venison
steaks to rabbit sausage, but you’ll be more than safe to eat a
chimp or your neighbor. [img

I have this idea that we might be seeing the emergence of some
kind of extremely prejudiced left-wing youth movement, sort of
like an American Red Guard, where crowds of high school and
college kids unite via social media to plan big violent protests
aimed at making us all conform to the Politically
Correct/BLM/Globalist BS that they have been spoon fed in the
school system.

We need an extremely prejudiced left wing movement to combat the
extremely prejudiced right wing movement. Nature abhors a

even though I think they're somewhat off-base in their thinking.
They are, after all, the future.
My son called up from Chicago at 2 am on election night, furious
with me because he thought I had voted for Jill Stein, and
therefore aided Trump in winning. Wanted to chew me out for
"throwing my vote away". I had to remind him that Trump carried
Texas by a wide margin with or without my help. (I didn't
actually vote for Stein anyway, although I considered it.)
I think what is so disappointing for some people is what people
like Trump represents and what it conveys by not actively going
against him. The image of Trump is he is sexist, racist,
homophobic and has xenophobic tendencies towards immigrants. By
not fighting him you are on some level condoning those things or
at best thinking these issues are not important.
The other thing, by bringing people like him into office it is
giving the image that Americans are somewhat uncaring, not kind
and suspicious of foreigners which goes against America's
traditional values. I say all this because that is the same kind
of arguments made when people voted for Brexit. What is also
similar were the outcries, protests and the general despair at
what this voting conveyed to the international community. There
were people of my age who were ashamed to be British when they
heard that Brexit had won. Many people, especially the younger
generation want to be seen as open minded and have socially
liberal outlooks on life and Trump (or Brexit) show the complete
opposite message to the outside world. Perhaps that is the
source of grief and anguish your son experienced it was
certainly a common sentiment among the millennial generation in

The Trailer Trash Trump people are already doing their typical
right wing imitation of a certain fossil fueler by mocking these
protesters and telling them to "quit whining".
As soon as Trailer Trash Trump is inaugurated, just watch the
breathtakingly hypocritical position of the Republicans in
Congress when they yammer about "respecting the law" and the
"Constitutional right of the President" to name a [s]Supine[/s]
Supreme Court Justice and how we are a "nation of laws" and how
"Unpatriotic it is to filibuster or interfere with the serious
and Patriotic work of the legally elected Republican loyal
servants."...
[move]LOL[/move]
Eddie, these protests will soon blow over. The people you have
to worry about are not, as your multiple posts and preoccupation
with this indicate, on the left wing.
The people you have to worry about are the millennials that
voted for Trailer Trash Trump that will see NO JOBS showing up
within a year.
I know you don't believe that. But the racist, xenophobic, baser
side of the white electorate has been unleashed. Trump is NOT
going to be able to control it. I respect your opinion and
understand your fears, but please consider that well to do
people like you, not Trailer Treasure like me, will be in the
crosshairs of those jobless whites angry at the gross double
cross and mendacity of Trailer Trash Trump, regardless of the
FACT that, AS IN THE PAST, Wall Street and Trump will do
everything possible to encourage scapegoating the "dangerous
left" as the "problem".
That is what you may be doing, albeit inadvertently. If you
really believe that is a valid fear, I warn you that you won't
see the danger to yourself from your own poor white neighbors. I
have nothing to gain by instilling groundless fears in you. I am
saying this for your welfare.
Now for some apocalyptic humor:
Meanwhile, expect the fossil fuelers to prudently explain to us
how much prosperity is coming our way with the melting of all
that useless ice in Antarctica and Greenland and all the world's
glaciers. Never mind the pollution in the atmosphere and the
oceans. Never mind the Sixth Great extinction in progress
killing a disproportionately large portion of high order
vertebrate and mammal species. That's just evolution and the
tardigrades are just the march of evolutionary progress. [img
width=30]
HTML http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/renewablerevolution/3-141113185701.png[/img]
And sea level rise is NO PROBLEMO. Haven't you heard about Death
Valley? The fossil fuel industry has great skills at building
pipelines, you know. They will, for a prudent fee, of course,
and to protect our national security so that New York, New
Orleans and Houston won't flood, turn Death Valley into LIFE
Lake. [img

The hotels and pier facilities along LIFE Lake's shores, plus
great gas stations strategically and conveniently placed to fuel
all those 3,000 hp Evinrude speedboats will bring jobs,
prosperity and beauty to America!
HTML http://www.smilies.4-user.de/include/Spiele/smilie_game_017.gif
Don't you know that the brave fossil fuel industry is expert at
digging holes? I mean, they have world class geologists drilling
hither and yon, so they know what's down there. If the oceans
really are going up, something that MKing and his scientific,
prudent friends in the fossil fuel industry will calmly explain
is not proven yet (but just in case, they are here, like the
government, to help ), it's simply a matter of relocating
the sea water to new lakes the fossil fuel industry can create
for Trump and the world! [img
width=30]
HTML http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/renewablerevolution/3-141113185701.png[/img]
They will all have great golf courses too! As the oceans go up,
the fossil fuel industry will be happy to pipe sea water to all
the below sea level places in the world. Being very scientific
and prudent about all these job creating activities, they
realize that additional new holes will have to be dug for new
lakes with lots of lakefront property and recreation areas. ;D
Yes, they normally just drill without making such big holes. But
the Clean Coal people are real good at making big holes. So our
loyal servants Big Oil, & Gas plus Big Coal will dig big holes
in high country like the high desert and pump sea water to them
to keep those pesky oceans from getting out of hand. We will all
be happy to increase the subsidies for fossil fuel industry
activities so they can complete this world saving venture
without punitive expenses. ;D
Yes, I know that sounds wonderful. But it gets BETTER!
HTML http://www.pic4ever.com/images/19.gif
There is an ADDED beauty
to this great and noble Super project by the fossil fuel
industry. All that ground they dig up (after they process the
minerals appropriately, of course - they have to run a
profitable business, ya know ;)) can be placed over flat land
places like Kansas or Florida. They can have contractors build
fancy neighborhoods that look down on the surrounding areas with
spectacular views! And in places like Michigan and North Dakota,
the new mountains can host sky resorts!
As MKing, would say, the future is bright for our loyal
servants, the Fossil Fuel Industry.
I'm sure the Tardigrades agree.

North Pole expected to reach 50 degrees warmer than
normal
Temperatures are expected to climb to just below the
freezing point on Thursday, much higher than is usual during an
Arctic winter.
Weston Williams @westonwolf359
December 21, 2016 —Just a few days before Christmas,
Santa may have to take off a few layers to stay comfortable at
the North Pole.
According to current weather models, the Arctic is going to be
unseasonably warm later this week, with air temperatures
climbing to just under the freezing point (32 degrees F.) on
Thursday. While that may seem plenty chilly, it's sweltering by
Arctic standards, about 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit above normal
for this time of year.
While anomalous warm days have always been possible – weather
everywhere can have odd short-term fluctuations – some
indicators suggest that unseasonable warmth at the North Pole is
becoming more frequent due to global climate change and melting
ice.
And after a record-breaking warm year and an unusually warm
November that significantly dropped ice coverage in the Arctic,
it looks like 2016 may be ending on yet another unpleasantly
warm note in the far north.
According to a study published in the journal Nature earlier
this year, Arctic temperature spikes occur once or twice every
decade since the 1950s. But this is the second December in a row
where a temperature spike like this has happened in the Arctic.
Last year's spike was even more extreme than this one is
predicted to be, with temperatures passing the melting point, an
extremely rare occurrence in an Arctic winter.
The predicted temperatures later this week are driven in part by
a series of storms that are bringing uncommonly warm air to the
region. The main culprit is a storm set to hit Greenland and
Britain that could be a record setter for strongest storm to
develop in that area of the North Atlantic.
While two consecutive years of unseasonable heat in Arctic
winter could be an indicator of climate change, Zachary Labe, a
doctoral student researching the Arctic at the University of
California-Irvine, cautions that two similar instances in a row
do not necessarily define a new normal – at least, not yet.
"I don't think anyone can for sure say" that these unseasonable
temperatures are becoming more common, Mr. Labe told The
Washington Post. "The variability in the Arctic is tremendous."
A heat spike like this may be unusual, but the overall upward
climb in Arctic temperatures is clear. While the rest of the
world has also been feeling the heat on climate change, the
Arctic is warming about twice as fast as the rest of the globe,
making for much more dramatic environmental shifts in the far
North.
In November, for instance, a month usually associated with the
growth of ice in the Arctic, a sudden reversal in this trend led
to the loss of 19,000 square miles of ice over five days, a
phenomenon only precedented by a smaller ice loss in 2013,
according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA).
Increasingly low ice coverage may also have contributed to this
week's projected highs, since the depleted ice cover east of the
Nordic sea has created a channel for warmer air to flow North.
"You have more real estate available to advect the warm
and moist air northward,"
Ryan Maue, a meteorologist
with WeatherBell Analytics, told The Washington Post.

Did you know that Trump has a fetish for the number 666? The
Trump tower is 666 feet high and Trump lives on the 66th floor.
Perhaps his bedroom is in the 66.6th part of the building. LOL!
The reason 666 is a big deal for a lot of people that like money
is because King Solomon, reputed to be the richest person in
history, received a tribute of 666 "talents" (a LARGE several
pound measure of gold) each year. But in the New Testament of
the bible, the number 666 is associated with the anti-Christ.
I was gob smacked when I learned that Trump's Jewish son-in-law
is involved in a $666,000,000 financing deal with Santander Bank
(world class crooks - 20th largest bank in the world that
unloaded junk bonds on customers without warning of the risk)
for some building project.
It looks like Trump wants to play the role of the End Times
World Leader, whether he believes in any scripture or not.
At any rate, he is really obsessed with the number 666. I find
that strange and troubling. Hitler was superstitious too...
