Looking Good, Kerry!

Well this is all looking good. I am not sure how to use all that
is here or even what a child board is. I take it they are for
children who want to come on site as well as us grown up.
I shall follow the lead of those who do know what they are doing
on a "all singing all dancing " forum site.

Think of one board as the parent board; and when that board is
divided into other boards, they're called child boards. You'll
get the hang of it.
We don't have any groups now; but if we get them, each one would
be a "child board." Thus under "Public Groups," we might see,
"Jame's group, Helen's group, Colin's group," etc. The board
"Religious Discussions" could also generate "children' if people
want a more specific category. "Secular Discussions" could too
-- possibly science, politics, etc.
If people don't want to read a particular board, they can put it
on ignore by going to ther profile and choosing the ignore
boards option.

It looks like things are taking shape now :)
All we need are some players and we can kick off!
Every blessing upon it.....H

^ There would be some advantages if you started a group, Helen.
You could edit your own posts and correct the spelling if the
threads were in your group area. :D
I'm still hoping Colin will take me up on my offer to give him a
group. That way, he could edit and delete to his heart's
content inside it. If people posted things he didn't like, he
could edit and delete their posts too -- and kick them out of
his group if he felt like it. Since "Danger Mouse" is no longer
admin, he could even keep me out of his group! ;D
I was also wondering if there should be a child forum for the
pieces you post by Spurgeon and others? It's true that that
kind of piece doesn't get a lot of responses; but they get read,
and it might be nice to have some way to have them all together
in one place in case people see one and they want to read
others.

I have to confess I am not wild about lots of boards, not that
it matters I guess as I only ever read forums via " Show unread
posts since last visit" up by the top date.
What I will do though as you mention it...is start a Blog type
thread and put that kind of 'inspiration writings' of those who
so faithfully bless me and challenge me ( and I hope bless and
give strength to other too) in "praise and worship" unless you
think it wouldn't fit there? If so..yes go ahead and make a sub
board off of it..or somewhere :D
Re Colin...I haven't seen his name floating at the bottom for
quite some time now....he is posting on LW. You could probably
spark his interest if you sent him a PM and invited him to have
his place here.
Looking forward to seeing how things unfold...I hope Mike pops
in one in a while too. I miss him.

James, the reasons I like them is so members can choose to
ignore the boards they don't want to see and I also find it
easier to find old threads if I know what board to look in.

Will do then, and happy editing! LOL, be careful not to edit
other people's posts. Don't think it's impossible. I've done
it. I thought I hit "reply" but hit edit -- and I wrecked the
post of the other person. Once I think I fixed it completely
but wasn't sure -- another time I knew I had messed up big time.
What could I do but apologize and hope to do better? That's
one reason I prefer to post as a regular member -- so I'm not
hitting wrong buttons.
I can see it going either under the "Praise and Worship" board
or as a group. I'm not sure which would be better. . . .

Yes, I sent him a PM. He didn't answer me in the thread before
when I asked. I didn't know if he understood what was going on
or not. He seemed to want a place where he could keep the
"mice people" out. So I figured, why not give him such a place
if that's what he wants? Then he and I wouldn't be disagreeing
over whether the "mice people" should be allowed to post in his
threads.

I"m glad he didn't delete his account. Maybe he will pop in
from time to time.

I'm very happy with how things are shaping up.
I had a problem with font size being too small, but now it's OK
(although I don't know whether that's due to me having increased
font size in my GoogleChrome browser)
Re editing other people's posts, is not that restricted to
'admin'?.....or is it facilitated within one's 'Personal
boards'?
I've changed my visible name to 'Mike' for more regular
contribution now that things are shaping up nicely.

Glad to see you Mike...if you feel "so led" PLEASE start a
personal board or Blog or something to keep in touch, you post
such good photos, plus I like your updates, health etc We are
all getting so much older!!
One thing I have always liked is the "daily chatter" type of
stuff...it 'warms' the place up and makes for a friendly 'human'
site. Just my druthers...

experience with Chrome. If I came here using my Opera browser,
things were fine; but I thought I needed a microscope when I
used Chrome. But when I did the Ctrl +, it fixed my problem.
Chrome appears to "remember" the site too, so I don't need to
keep doing it.

moderators of this board or that.

[/quote]I was thinking of changing my moniker also. There's
not much cheese about, so being a mouse isn't that much fun.
