Avatars.

Noticing that Helen was struggling to get a chosen avatar to
'fit' I would mention that the software requires an avatar not
to exceed 160px in width (I found that out by trial and error
when trying to make an avatar out of a cartoon which I had found
about two Jehovah Witness mice).

Download the photo to your computer first and then tell the
software here to upload that image from your computer. My
guess is the software will reduce images from your computer but
not from urls.
I did that with one; and the whole image did get reduced. It
showed up whole up above; but when showing up as an avatar with
the posts, part of it got chopped off on the right.

That may well be the case.
I think when you said "and the whole image did get reduced" you
were talking about trying to download off a URL and meant to say
"and the whole image did not get reduced.

I copied the image to my computer; and it stayed the same size.
When I uploaded it here, it got reduced here.
I did not try to use an url here. I was only guessing about
how that works or doesn't.

Nonny Mouse has five stars. You may get more stars faster if
you're a mouse.
I can see all of your avatar if i click on your profile; but
it's clipped off on the right in this thread.

To get Poppy's avatar to show in full in her posts I had to copy
it to my computer, reduce it to 160px width, and then download
it.
As for more mice, we've already agreed that since both you and I
are males it won't come from us.
But maybe Helen will bring in the one that she reckoned I ought
to have chosen.
