I really want to get back to this...I haven't forgotten...I lay
in bed before work this am thinking about it. Now home from
your...had over an HOUR on the phone about my computer/ and
false emails/spam from Apple...saying my ID was compromised and
someone was buying stuff on my account blah blah blah..
Now I am 'all shook up'.. as Elvis used to sing... ( but got it
sorted out) my mind is not peaceful enough, and too tired from
work to write here right now... I want to enjoy the
discussion...not rush it to just fill in space.
Back later....H

I sometimes get phone calls supposedly from Microsoft with
people telling me my computer is compromised. The last time, I
told the fellow, "Why don't you get an honest job?" He said,
"What?' I said, "Why don't you get an honest job instead of
calling people bothering them and trying to con them?" He hung
up on me.
I'm in no hurry. I'm still interested in what "the promise"
is. I've been thinking about it but gotten nowhere.

With Apple, ones Apple ID is linked to everything iCloud,
iTunes, iPhoto, iPad and whatever Mac computer. There is
obviously a scam on to right now....the email looking like it is
from Apple,( icon etc) saying that your ID has been compromised
so log in via this email and confirm your ID and Password....I
was MORE than 2/3 rd into doing this when I suddenly thought to
call Apple to be sure it was from them!! It wasn't!!! :(
Finally I got the Manager who could explain to me why I had a U2
music album ( it was a disgusting one by the picture) in my
iTunes if it was a scam etc etc...it all took over and hour by
the time I was all done.
I have changed my password twice...so hope that has fixed it.
:-[
Anything like that rattles me. But I feel calmer now. :D
2 Pet 1: 4" Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the
divine nature,"
It seems that the promises are of great value to us in 'winning
this war or life' and getting to the end goal.
When we think of the end goal...maybe it is slightly different
for everyone. We can only speak for ourself.
Surly the end goal is peace and joy. When we think of "Eden" is
it not peace and joy?
I personally cannot see peace and joy outside of Him. He's
everything. If a person wants something else than that, then I
can't see that they are really believers in love with the Lord!!
Hebrews 11 reads that it is all by faith and yes it says Enoch
did not die..then :- they all died. I still maintain it is
speaking to faith people, so it presumes that we as the people
of faith understand, that although Enoch died from this world,
he never died, any more than Abraham DIED. My dad is not dead
but the doctor who signed his certificate ..he pronounced him as
dead..gone.
You said that by my reasoning we should say that ALL the people
in the OT received the promises( having not received but seen
then afar off) ... I don't see it that way. When it says them
it is the Overcomers of the OT not everyone. Joshua and Caleb
were overcomers...the rest of Israel were not. When I say 'we" I
mean those of us (NT) that are Overcomers..( Rev 3) ..I may be
among them , I may not....we can but run it and trust His heart
to understand our heart and desire.
'To me' THE Promise is the fullness of life with Him, being made
one...the final uniting.
The Promises include Peace, Presence, blessing, healing, comfort
etc I think that "seeing them afar off" we have peace, but not
the fullness of peace. Joy, but not the fullness of Joy...we
still go in and out of all that is promised we don't posses and
hold.
I think The Promise they did not yet receive is the fullness of
being One with Him.
They can't..." for they without us cannot be made
perfect/complete/finished."
I love the book of Hebrews...one of my faves. :)
What an adventure!
2 Pet 1: 4" Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and

That chapter says we were already given what we needed.
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things
that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of
him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious
promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world
through lust.
Yet people speak as if they are missing something.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith
virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
By "faith alone" written elsewhere in the Bible needs to be
taken in context.
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and
to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness
charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that
ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faith appears to be necessary to get things started and to keep
them going; but of course, faith without works is dead.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar
off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
An interesting verse since it says that some who received these
promised things are still blind and cannot "see afar off" and
has forgotten some things.

Not for me. Nor can I believe it could be true for you either.
Could you be happy in Eden if people you loved were not there
too? Could you be like the rich man living happily while
Lazarus suffered without the gate? I doubt it. Peace and joy
are not complete until all are saved.
I personally cannot see peace and joy outside of Him.

I can't believe you wrote that, and I can't believe you mean it.

if so many did perish in the wilderness? Shall not all Israel
be saved? Should we believe what they foolishly said about
God, that His plan was to take them into the wilderness to
perish?
When I say 'we" I mean those of us (NT) that are
Overcomers..( Rev 3) ..I may be among them , I may not....we can
but run it and trust His heart to understand our heart and
desire.
I say that Israel, after being told they would
not enter the Land of Promise, did not return to Egypt as they
had talked about but rather followed the Pillar until they died.
They learned the value of love. By their sacrifice, their
children did enter.
Eve rashly did not consider the fate of her offspring when she
gave offense; and when Israel threatened to return to Egypt,
they were contemplating returning to slavery among idolaters.
They had a slave mentality themselves and were not worthy to
enter the Land of Promise; but they could still refuse to return
to Egypt even if it meant they perished in the wilderness as
they had feared. They were willing to perish in the wilderness
if it benefited their children.

You do not see how these people who went before us helped pave
the road for us? No one enters the kingdom by himself. You
do not believe these people also helped prepare the world to
receive King Messiah?
You appear to be focusing on the Jesus-and-me relationship; but
the Body of Christ is made of countless members. If one is
missing, it is a tragedy in the eyes of Jesus.
