       James 5:13-15
KJV 13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry?
let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for
the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing
him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith
shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he
have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
WEB 13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any
cheerful? Let him sing praises. 14 Is any among you sick? Let
him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over
him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, 15 and the
prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will
raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven..
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
13 We need to prayer, God wants to hear from us and we need to
pour our grief and sorrow out to Him. When we are doing well, we
should worship, this isn’t saying we don’t worship in hard times
and isn’t saying that we don’t pray during good times but is
saying that we pour it out to the Lord.
14-15 The sick should be prayed over, God can bring healing. Oil
symbolized the Spirit. This was done in the belief God would
heal them, this healing doesn’t work without faith.
