Micah 1:2-4
KJV 2 Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that
therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the
LORD from his holy temple. 3 For, behold, the LORD cometh forth
out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high
places of the earth. 4 And the mountains shall be molten under
him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and
as the waters that are poured down a steep place.
WEB 2 Hear, you peoples, all of you.
Listen, O earth, and all that is therein:
and let the Lord Yahweh be witness against you,
the Lord from his holy temple.
3 For, behold, Yahweh comes forth out of his place,
and will come down and tread on the high places of the
earth.
4 The mountains melt under him,
and the valleys split apart,
like wax before the fire,
like waters that are poured down a steep place.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
2 We need to be open to both God’s word and to the Spirit’s
call. We often aren’t willing to hear. The temple would be
destroyed and is today but this could be a reference to the
people that followed the Lord. God was never limited to the
temple even though sometimes people saw Him as such. God’s
throne was always in heaven.
3 This means that God is coming down from heaven and the high
places refer to places of worship, so this verse means that God
is going to handle the pagan worship places that shouldn’t have
been.
4 This verse shows both that God has glory and power and is the
Judge. He is the judge, are we ready, are we bringing people
before His throne away from these other high places in the
world, as Christians this is exactly what we are to do.
