Jonah 1:15-17 King James Version (KJV)
15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and
the sea ceased from her raging.
16 Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a
sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.
17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah.
And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three
       nights.
Jonah 1:15-17 New Life Version (NLV)
15 So they picked up Jonah and threw him into the sea, and the
storm stopped. 16 Then the men feared the Lord very much. They
gave a gift in worship to the Lord and made promises to Him.
17 The Lord sent a big fish to swallow Jonah, and he was in the
stomach of the fish for three days and three nights.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
15 This was something they didn’t want to do but had to, the
storms of life that come running from God will follow us where
       we go.
16 They did this for repentance, this shows that they were more
genuine then Jonah was, they were sorrowful for what they had to
do. We should be this same way everytime we sin.
17 So God had Jonah swallowed by a fish, instead of having him
die, this was to break him so that he would go to Nineveh as the
Lord wanted from Him. Sometimes the Lord has to break us.
