James 2:20-23 King James Version (KJV)
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is
dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had
offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was
faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed
God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was
called the Friend of God.
James 2:20-23 New Life Version (NLV)
20 You foolish man! Do I have to prove to you that faith without
doing things is of no use? 21 Was not our early father Abraham
right with God by what he did? He obeyed God and put his son
Isaac on the altar to die. 22 You see his faith working by what
he did and his faith was made perfect by what he did. 23 It
happened as the Holy Writings said it would happen. They say,
“Abraham put his trust in God and he became right with God.” He
was called the friend of God.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
20 If our faith does nothing then it isn’t good God might as
well taken us straight to heaven if we don’t do nothing good by
Him because we are going to sin by the flesh and without serving
God and striving to be like Christ then we would just be a
hindrance to people coming to faith, we will sin but letting
Jesus carry us to do good and seeking God and growing in Him
shows the world that they mess up but thru Jesus they have
something better even though they cant be perfect.
21 Abraham was a man of faith but his faith moved by works.
Abraham gave up Isaac on an altar God didn’t say to him I see
your faith you don’t have to do anything but He asked him to
test his faith and our works show our faith and God will allow
us to be tested so that our faith can grow.
22 Abraham was not perfect but made perfect his faith in the
Word and we are made perfect by the Word because He died on a
cross for us. We are made perfect by Christ for us to do good
works our good works are His light shown thru us.
23 Abraham’s faith was shown thru his actions; it showed his
love for Him and drew him closer to God. We are drawn closer to
God by Him working thru us by our faith.
