1 Kings 7:3-6King James Version (KJV)
3 And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay
on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.
4 And there were windows in three rows, and light was against
       light in three ranks.
5 And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and
light was against light in three ranks.
6 And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty
cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was
before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were
       before them.
1 Kings 7:3-6New Life Version (NLV)
3 And it was covered with cedar above the rooms that were on the
forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row.4 There were three rows
of special windows on one side, and three rows of windows on the
other side. 5 All the doors and windows were as high as they
were wide. And there were three rows of windows on each side.6
Then he made a room for walking through of large pillars. It was
as long as twenty-five long steps, and as wide as fifteen long
steps. There was a porch in front with pillars, and an overhead
       covering in front of them.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
3 These pillars were used for style as well to make it look
fancy; the Romans used pillars in all the important buildings.
Cedar is a very strong wood; the pillars could have been used
for support as well as looks.
4 Buildings of those days commonly only had one window; this
building to have so many windows showed that is was of
       importance.
5 Most building of them days may have had one or two doors but
Solomon’s home had more to show the great importance.
6 Porches in those days were rarely used and putting a roof on
       them was even done less.
