if we remember those long ago beginnings when we first came to
know Jesus
none of "us" had answers ; but only a knowledge that we needed
to listen
and Jesus was the one we needed to listen to.
in those beginnings;
Jesus didn't speak of ;
sacraments, rapture, doctrines, orthodoxy, law,
denominations,
instead;
{ as seen in the beginnings of
the new testament }
the story starts off with him;
and his introduction
just like;
if you want to talk with me
and here what i have to say
you have to get to know me --- the conversation
doesn't begin with what i feel is wrong with you --- "right?"
the story starts with Jesus
and its told to those who
listen
it a family story;
retold {the gospel story} by
family
as an invite to the listener in
to the family
such subjects as ;
sacraments, rapture, doctrines,
orthodoxy, law, denominations, etc
----------------- " imo "
-----------------------
are subjects for those in the
family and not { !!! }
for those outside the family
opinions by the family that
differ here ; don't exclude family from being family !!!
but they also are talked about in the story ; but they in
themselves are not the "family" story

Oh, I see...I will have to get used to how you post all over
again!! LOL
Well I can't feel that I agree....becuase it was "that kind of
stuff" and the discussions, which started me off in getting
interested in the 'things of the Lord.'
For me, it didn't even start with "Jesus" ...I thought that God
was God, and Jesus was a baby that He sent here...Jesus was for
Sunday School...I had no clue who Jesus was at all!!
My search was always to 'know the Father', not Jesus.
I was never interested much in Jesus, not even in sunday
school....that is why it was quite the shock when I heard an old
Pastor preach on Jesus, and He being the Way to the Father!!

Helen, Alfie's sentence that followed the bit that you quoted is
important don't you agree:-

It will be strange indeed if, after all my efforts to reunite
old friends in a peaceful and loving forum, I should finally
manage to do so in a forum pitched to court controversy.
BTW I've always liked your avatar which depicts 'Mary' who had
"chosen the better part" by worshipping at the feet of Jesus.
