1 Kings 6:7-10

1 Kings 6:7-10 King James Version (KJV)
7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone
made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was
neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house,
while it was in building.
8 The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the
house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle
chamber, and out of the middle into the third.
9 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house
with beams and boards of cedar.
10 And then he built chambers against the entire house, five
cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

7 The house was built of stone that was cut at the place where
it was taken from the ground. There was no noise of a hammer or
an ax or any iron object heard in the house while it was being
built. 8 The door for the first floor room was on the right side
of the house. They would go up steps to the second floor and
from the second to the third. 9 So he built the house and
finished it. And he made the roof of the house of large pieces
of cedar wood. 10 He built the three floors against the outside
wall of the house. Each one was as high as a man could raise his
hand. They were joined to the house with big pieces of cedar
wood.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
7 Stone was the strongest material for building at the time but
was not used in this area because it was not as common as other
things but also that it took more time to build out of stone.
8 the temple was three stories this was not common in those days
most houses at most were two levels, this showed the importance
of it because it being three stories. The building only had one
door this was so that they could more easily control who came
in, not everyone was allowed to enter the temple.
9 Solomon most likely did not actually build the temple but had
it done as king. A wooden roof was also not as common in those
days but again that shows the importance of the building.
10 To rooms this tall may have been uncommon as well, rooms may
have been made just tall enough to where men don’t have to duck
down in them.
