More good news. The owner looked into the insurance bit, and
I can go back to the lower coverage. I felt a little like an
idiot calling my agent to change it back to what it had been
before; but the woman on the phone was very understanding. So
I'll be getting that money back.
My cell phone is still going to be $20 a month though instead of
$10. I have to have those extra minutes since I have to call
so many customers. Pizza drivers aren't allowed in the
college dorms, so we have to call them if they're not out
waiting. Other people need called too if their houses are
hard to find, if they don't hear the door, etc.
The other day my phone rang and someone said he wanted to order
two pizzas. Of course, I told him that I was a driver and
he'd have to call the store. I found it amusing. I can see
how it happened since I had called him and my number was in his
       phone.

Downgrading a more expensive lifestyle is always a good thing
IMO. It allows for better savings, and I truly believe its
       good for us spiritually.

I just bought some Ramen noodles. Talk about cheap. But I love
them and they come in handy if I'm in a hurry between jobs.
They're great for adding things to too. Sometimes I chop a
small onion up. Right now, I have a bag of frozen carrots so I
can toss some of them in the water before the water comes to a
       boil.
I saw I was able to add some more money to my Kiva account; and
I lent money to two more people. The first is a guy in Kenya
who wants the money so he can invest in stoves that burn
cleaner, without charcoal. It's good for the environment and
it's good for people's health too not to breath all the smoke.
If he can sell them, and he can since he's sold a lot already,
it sounds like a win-win proposition to me. It also saves the
people who buy the stoves money.

Then some money to a girl from Tajikistan so she can go to
       college.

I checked up on Kiva. It sounds like a great way to help
people. You empower them instead of just giving a handout.
It encourages ppl to work hard to succeed. Glad you put up the
       info on it.

Believe it or not, I haven't lost much money there. I used to
lend money at Prosper.com, and I lost more money there. That
was lending to rich -- or rather rich -- Americans. Some of
them made lots more than I do; and I was lending them money and
then some didn't pay it back. The people at Kiva may be poor
and need a helping hand; but they seem a lot more honest to me.
I don't care if they aren't paying interest.
Another thing about Kiva is that you can withdraw your money if
you need to. It could take months or even a few years before
all the outstanding loans got paid off; but if you were in a
financial pinch yourself, you can withdraw money.
So what if Kiva doesn't pay interest? One of my checking
accounts doesn't, and the other pays a half percent. There
isn't much difference between 0% and 0.5% if you ask me.
Having money I might need later at Kiva makes more sense to me
       since it's doing good there.
I also feel good when I see the photos of the people I have lent
to. I think it's helped me more than them by giving me a more
positive attitude towards other people. Some of the borrowers
there seem like heroes and heroines to me. There is a war in
Yemen, but people there are still struggling to make a living
and make life better for themselves and their families. I
thought, "Is it smart to lend to someone in Yemen?" The answer
seemed to be no; but it seemed the right thing to do; and if the
loan never gets paid back because of the war, I do not care.

I finally got around to paying my federal taxes since I had
filed an extension. The site I used online said I would get a
refund; but I said to put it towards next year's taxes. It
seems I overpaid when I filed the extension.
Today I got around to paying a local tax, and that took a bite
out of my checking account! The good news is I could pay it
this month and not in November or December when it would have
been more. That's how it was last year. Next year, I can get a
       discount if I pay early.
I also see on the last pay stub that I got overtime at Dominos.
They don't schedule me for it; but they call me in when other
people call off and I wind up working more hours than they or I
planned. If this keeps up, I may get health insurance from
       them.

Health insurance would be good, you get a penalty from the govt
in your taxes if you dont have it.

I am not sure but I think maybe, just maybe, I won't have to pay
the penalty this year. I didn't understand the form when I
filled it out. There are some exceptions; and I think buying it
would exceeded the percentage of income limit. If they penalize
me, oh well. It's still cheaper than buying the insurance.
I think I'll have overtime this week too. I'm doing a lot
better than I planned when I set up the budget.

You know how desperate companies are now with their "loyalty
cards" -- I finally got one, although I think they're so
gimmicky. This one takes off 3 cents a gallon on each at the
       pump.

The Ingles gas station that I often fuel at (a gas station
associated with the grocery store chain) is not only within a
penny of the lowest price in town, but often the lowest. If
you load an Ingles gift card with money and use it at the pump,
you get 3 cents off per gallon and then also for every $100
dollars you spend on groceries there, you get an additional
penny off per gallon up to 10 gallons worth.
