What sort of bodies will we have in Heaven ?
By: Edwin Date: December 3, 2014, 6:50 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I was once asked, "What sort of bodies will we have in Heaven ?"
My reply was.
1 Corinthians 15:50-54 says, "that flesh and blood cannot
inherit the kingdom of God "
All that this verse is telling me is that the body I now have
cannot be taken to Heaven, the spiritual kingdom, to participate
there, and that I will be given a new body, which will be able
to take part there, and for this reason it is referred to as a
spiritual body.
The fact that it is referred to as a spiritual body, does not
mean that it is not a physical body.
I take at face value what God said at.
Phl 3:21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his
glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all
things to himself." , and also at.
Jhn 20:14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw
Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.
Jhn 20:15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom
are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to
Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have
laid Him, and I will take Him away."
Jhn 20:16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to
Him,[fn1] "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher).
Jhn 20:19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of
the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were
assembled,[fn3] for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in
the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you."
Luk 24:30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them,
that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.
Luk 24:31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He
vanished from their sight.
Luk 24:36 Now as they said these things Jesus Himself stood in
the midst of them, and said to them, "Peace to you."
Luk 24:37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed
they had seen a spirit.
Luk 24:38 And He said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do
doubts arise in your hearts?
Luk 24:39 "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself.
Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as
you see I have."
Luk 24:41 But while they still did not believe for joy, and
marveled, He said to them, "Have you any food here?"
Luk 24:42 So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some
honeycomb.[fn7]
Luk 24:43 And He took it and ate in their presence.
Mar 16:12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them
as they walked and went into the country.
Jhn 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and
said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
Because of the above, I believe that when my now regenerated
spirit indwells my yet future new resurrection body, that.
1. When my friends meet me for the first time they will not
recognize me, but as soon as I speak, they will know it is me.
2. That I will be able to pass through solid matter.
3. That I will be able to disappear, and reappear, at will.
4. That my new body will have flesh and bones.
5. That my new body will have internal organs, stomach,
intestines, there will be a need to take in nutriment.
6. That I will be able to appear in another form.
7. That I will have lungs, and be able to breath.
Unless of course you feel that these 7 points are for Jesus
only, and that my new resurrection body will not in fact be,
"like his glorious body",
Bless you.
Edwin.

We won't have bodies "in heaven".
We shall have new bodies (like Christ's glorified body) when we
are resurrected onto the new earth.

You might want to take a close look at 1 Thess 4:13-18 which
reveals the Resurrection/Rapture of the saints. The Lord
descends from Heaven for His saints and then returns to Heaven
with His saints, because He has prepared a place for them in
Heaven (Jn 14:1-3) and there is an inheritance reserved for them
in Heaven (1 Pet 1:4). The entire Church -- those washed in the
blood of the Lamb and clothed with His righteousness -- is seen
in Heaven (Rev 7:9-17).
That is not to say that the earth will not be inhabited. But
that would be a subject for another thread.

The passage in I Thessalonians tells us that we will "meet the
Lord in the air." But then what? The picture is of a king coming
to his kingdom, and his subjects coming out of the city to greet
him - and then to escort him into the city from which they have
just come! Then we shall indeed "be with the Lord for ever" -
but on earth.
Our inheritance is "kept in heaven for us" (I Pet 1:4), but it
doesn't necessarily follow that we have to go there to enjoy it.
'Heaven' is our temporary home, until Jesus returns and
establishes His kingdom on earth (Revelation 21 & 22). Then we
shall all be resurrected.

No idea....A slip of the finger....I "thought" I recognised a
style of writing...people may change their name...but they can't
usually hide their style or content. 8) Maybe I am right,
maybe not.
