all things physical are held together by God, my little finger
although solid to me is at a micro level just particles floating
together with space between them and something small enough or
lacking a 3 dimensional body could pass straight through it. All
matter is not only created by God and held together by him, even
the lips of those who spat on Jesus were able to do so by God
allowing them to do it. God's grace is so vast it's immeasurable
to us

1.
inclinations.
2.
God but never to the degree of such inspiration overruling their
cultural upbringing, academic education, or cosmic knowledge.
3.
define his personage and intent.
4.
from unbelievers is not sufficient to differentiate between
those who might spend eternity in God’s presence and those who
might not.
5.
that occasionally cause sickness and disasters, and that he only
intervenes in selective instances to overrule what he has
created.
6.
mankind rather than God of just a privileged part.
7.
the fall of man, the flood, etc., etc., is founded on ancient
myth and legend.
8.
God’s ‘Old Covenant’ to his ‘New’, and that the essential
difference is not generally accepted
9.
development since Pentecost has either been to ensure the
preservation of the Church of Christ, or to deflect ‘man’ from
his presumption to be able to precisely define God and his
intentions.
10.
circumstances of the recipients.
11. That I am not “of all men most miserable” as a result of
my inclinations.

Oh good...nice to come on here and see people opening up and
sharing what their faith is based upon. :) Except for the very
basics of our salvation...mine is always subject to change with
any new 'light'....
Not that I have been caused to change anything in the last
decade.
I pray that my heart is always open to fresh insight from the
Lord..maybe I am speanding too much time with "other stuff" and
not enough time 'waiting upon the Lord' to recieve 'fresh light'
..the light that changes us from glory to glory...
We should all be moving forward..and forever "hearing' because
we are not yet there, at The Perfect Day!
" the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth
more and more unto The Perfect Day.

yes Helen
Refreshing insight from the Holy Spirit is the way or we
regurgitate our beliefs like a dog returning to its own vomit
and swallow it down again. With enlightenment I've changed on my
understanding of many things but not the foundational principles
under which God operates as He never changes
but my understanding of Him does change to the stage where I
testify my view today but tomorrow it may be different if the
Holy Spirit adds a jigsaw piece and He refreshes the page then I
view everything afresh as a whole once again.... God won't be
different but my opinion of something relating to Him could well
be.

This thread intrigues me….more than is suggested by my single
post heretofore.
I guess that’s because I am a person preoccupied more with
questions than with answers.
Each day brings new questions for me, and more so the more I
read stuff on Christian forums (I read several without ever
joining them) that is such nonsense (IMO) that it goes straight
into my recycle bin (leaving yet another question in its wake).
Today (tomorrow I may feel differently) I feel constrained to
confirm that I believe in God….always have done, even though I
don’t expect to be able to understand the so called trinity.
Likewise I believe in God’s creation (but not as per Genesis).
Also I believe that God became man (in Jesus Christ) as a timely
part of his ‘salvation plan’ for his creation.
However I doubt the ‘Bible’ as being the ‘Word of God’ but find
it helpful as one of many ‘read between the lines’ sources of
consideration.
Overriding ‘Bible’ belief is my inclination towards ‘Christ
Within’ and reading between the lines of the Bible I find much
to confirm that inclination from Jeremiah 31:33 through to 2
Corinthians 3:2-6.
I believe ‘churchianity’ (as it became once the ‘State’ had
adopted it) to be an inevitable reflection of the various ages
through which it has morphed (particularly the morphing of the
Roman Catholic/Orthodox phase into that of the Reformation).
One of our members referred to ‘Liberalism’ as if it were
‘heretical’ whereas I believe it to be the most blessed antidote
to fanatical ‘Bible fundamentalism’.

I am convinced of this: God's Justice can be trusted to
protect those consciences are undefiled. We should believe
this without ever being told; and since we have also been told,
we truly have no excuse if we defile our consciences and fail to
trust in God's Perfect Justice.
Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my
fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and
from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings
shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the
arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the
destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy
right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of
the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the
most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague
come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee
in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy
foot against a stone..

The verbal inspiration of the Bible
By verbal inspiration, do you mean that what a
person speaks with his physical mouth could be inspired by God?
What happens with a person who is a physical mute?
The deity of Jesus Christ
While I generally agree on this one, my definition
of the word, deity, is probably somewhat different.
The baptism with the Holy Spirit
The individual belief of just exactly what this
baptism is or is not will certainly make a difference, won't
it?

Nice to see you John :)
By verbal inspiration of the bible...I guess what I mean
is...God spoke it and His faithful servants wrote it.

But even as with the parables of Jesus and a
message given in tongues without an interpreter, can a person
understand what the Bible says in any measure if it is not given
to him by God to understand?
