Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and
the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them who are the called according to
his purpose.
Those are two of the main scriptures that I keep in mind
regarding God's goodness.
Also when I pray about certain things that I'm going through in
life, I keep in mind what Jesus said when he was praying. Matt.
26:39 And he withdrew a little and he fell upon his face and he
prayed and he said, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup
pass by me, however not as I will, but as you will."
John 6:38 “For I came down from Heaven, not to do my will, but
to do the will of him who has sent me.”

Mike HM,
God is good. Jesus is the exact representation of God. He is
only ever good and kind. I must trust him despite
circumstances. Always.
MS (or whatever it is) is NOT good. Whatever your body is
suffering is also NOT good.
I pray, in God's perfect timing both of you men ARE healed, and
fully restored, for I do believe, at heart, you are both good.
Not perfect. But good.
I can only take one day at a time, serve how I may, bear what I
must, find happiness in each little place it presents itself. I
understand the desire to heal. Long ago, I wanted to be a vet
assistant. There have been hundreds of times I've wished that I
could heal. There have been so many times I was forced to
recognize that death is mercy. God gave, and I had to let go.
None, animal or human, ever really leave me because love has
made them mine. God is love. And love is eternal.
I think new glorified bodies await us. This body, even mine,
needs oil and a tune up. Maybe a jump-start, as well. An
Energizer battery. Must go . . . Be well. God will see
everything, everyone who loves, healed. This I believe.
We are, only because He is.

More strange news. From Salon
HTML http://www.salon.com/2015/04/14/this_is_absolutely_horrific_texas_church_members_on_the_run_after_demon_possessed_toddler_starves_to_death/:
On March 26, Texas police responded to an anonymous tip claiming
that a 2-year-old boy had died from starvation almost one week
earlier. Instead of seeking medical help, the tipster claimed
that the toddler’s guardians had taken him to a service at
Congregacional Pueblo de Dios where they attempted to perform a
“rising ceremony” to bring him back to life, thinking he was
possessed by demons.
A video has since surfaced of Aracely Meza, the church’s
secretary, praying and chanting over the child’s dead body. When
the ceremony fails, she can be seen crying over the boy.
After the ceremony, the parents reportedly wrapped the child in
a blanket and took him to Mexico for burial.
Meza, who is not related to the toddler, has since been arrested
and charged with injury to a child by omission. The child’s
parents have not been located.

I wonder if in their sick minds they were trying to starve
demons out of this boy too. Unbelievable cruelty. >:(
I wondered the same thing. I couldn't think of any
other reason for the child to have starved to death.
It seems to me the church leaders who taught these people to act
like this should be prosecuted. They're the real guilty parties
if you ask me.

^ I found some more details to this story.

Child in ‘resurrection ceremony’ starved more than 20 days
Aracely Meza, a woman who operated a church at her home in the
Dallas suburb of Balch Springs has been arrested for allegedly
helping starve to death a 2-year-old boy to rid him of a
“demon,” then holding a resurrection ceremony shortly after he
died to try to revive him, investigators said Tuesday.
According to local NBCDFW one church member, Nazareth Zurita,
said Meza “was considered a prophet” who “would advise to the
other members of the church what God has spoken to her.” Zurita
identified herself as the secretary and third-ranking officer of
the Iglesia Internacional Jesus es el Rey, and said Menza’s
husband was the church’s leader and Menza was its second-ranking
officer.
NBC says Congregacional Pueblo De Dios, which was formed in
2007, is affiliated with the Hispanic Conference of the
Congregational Holiness Church, a Pentecostal denomination based
in Griffin, Georgia. The evangelical denomination was created by
a schism in the Pentecostal movement in the 1920s.
Dr. Philip Wingeier-Rayo of the SMU Perkins School of Theology
has a lot of experience with Latin American religions. He
scanned the Iglesia Internacional Jesus es el Rey website and
said it appears to have been a potentially dangerously
independent congregation; one where leaders weren’t accountable
to a structured “mother church.”
“So there was nobody to say, ‘This fasting has gone on a little
too long… we need to have some rules.’ I didn’t see any evidence
of checks and balances,” Wingeier-Rayo said.
As extreme as it sounds, he said this phenomenon is quite
common. “I have seen a lot of congregations that start here in
the United States, especially dealing with the immigrant
population,” the theologian said.
Wingeier-Rayo explains these offshoot churches give isolated
followers a sense of culture and community, but can also rob
them of perspective — even when their own child is dying as a
result of a church ritual.
“You don’t have communication with the outside world, so you
are in this small niche, and the people around you are
practicing this religion,” he said. “You don’t have the option
of checking with other people to say, ‘Hey, is this normal?'”
Why would you need to check with other people and ask is this
normal???

That clears that part up. I wonder if the parents are still in
Mexico. Probably. They would probably be arrested if they
returned. They could be extradited though; and it sounds to me
as if the government might be trying to do that since the
article said they couldn't be located. That's something
they'll have to live with the rest of their lives. Sad, sad,
sad.
I wonder if there were some people in that church who would have
reported it to the government but didn't because they were here
illegally? It's a problem. People kidnap young girls and
sell them for sex; and often people are afraid to come forward,
afraid of being deported. Sometimes the girls themselves are
here illegally and afraid to say anything.
Something needs to change here. I think if people are willing
to come forward and help prevent such abuses, they should not
be deported if they can be prove what they're saying is true.
