Lost the use of two mowers (of three) and one vehicle (of two)
over the last two days. Not a good two days off, but at least
the Lord left us one each (between the two of us). Hoping they
can figure out the underlying problem on my truck, its for the
5th time the same problem, and no one thinks my reasoning for
the same problem re-occuring is valid. They keep replacing a
$150 part (add in labor) about every 4-6 months and assure me
that will fix the problem. Its not that they are purposely
lying to me, they just dont know any better and I dont know how
to fix it myself short of a new engine. Ah well, the Lord is
good and Greatly to be praised!!

Poppy. So little sunshine, I fear the sun's been stolen and
replaced with a cfb that gives no warmth. :-\
Brad, ha, we've many broke-down machines, as usual. I shoulda
taken auto shop in high school. :D. Like my friend, Larry, who
was a girl. Finally got the lawn tractor running, but have had
so much endless rain, the grass has gotten away from us. Been
cold, too. Barely 50 degrees right now. Gloomy as a crypt.
Mike, we are all so familiar with one another, it breeds
contempt? Like the old saying? But I will surely miss everyone
if we scatter too far. I think we are all interesting with our
individual little quirks. 8)
Should we talk about what troubles us/you, or is the point moot?
Maybe we should stop talking about religion and politics. ;)
I've decided I want to spend the rest of my life reading books
and watching movies. Anything to escape reality. Everyone I
know is steeped in troubles. I'm learning to really love simple
pleasures and warm comforts.
Anywaaay . . .

I also hope we dont scatter too far. I feel christian internet
forums which can be private, may be a blessing if our govt takes
too hard a turn against christians.

IMO we should indeed stop talking about God and just concentrate
on living our mortal lives in complete trust that God will be
and do (or leave to the laws of nature) whatever is his
sovereign will, without either God or ourselves intervening with
each other.
IMO God is solely for worshipping, and not for understanding
beyond the capacity and responsibility to 'Love' that he
implants within our hearts in the form of 'Christ'.
Something along those lines......

Yes, "Larry" was a girl. Haven't heard from her since then, but
she was the only girl named Larry I've ever known. And, true to
her name, she was quite a tomboy, and loved working on cars with
her dad, and she took auto shop in high school. She was pretty
and funny and was in my Animal Science class, which was where I
met her.
Speaking 'government', I'm not sure how private these sites
really are. A truly private site could probably be created, but
not by use of Createaforum, I imagine. Let's hope things don't
get that bad in our countries.[/font]

But then if these words should apply to such a discussion...?
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose
under the heaven:" Ecc 3:1
"...a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;" Ecc 3:7
What should we do then: stop listening to or for the Master's
voice? Does He never tell anyone that it is time to speak about
certain things?
Can we not find a way in or a way out of everything that God
wants us to do? Shouldn't we consider fine tuning our spiritual
ears (if we have them) to our Master's voice and then to obey
whatever "thus saith the Lord"?[/font]

I know that God intervenes directly and obviously at times, but
am left wondering why He does so in circumstances which seem
trivial compared to other circumstances that seem major. But I
can't pretend to understand the mind or ways of God. And, if
God holds all things together, He is intervening constantly, in
a way, right? We only 'are' because He 'is'. I think the Bible
also speaks of God 'holding back' the full power of evil that
might be unleashed in this world, and that, too, would represent
His constant intervention.
Despite what is happening with Kevin, I absolutely was warned in
a dream that something bad was coming, and though the aura of
that dream/vision was evil, God allowed I be warned. I don't
understand what is happening, but I do trust God will reveal the
reasons for these things eventually.
In the end, things do boil down to trust and remaining faithful,
while believing God is faithful to save us. We all have our own
ideas, but God's will is what will be done. Although Jesus
gives us the right to call God 'Father', and we love to believe
upon Him as a friend, I think it good to contemplate just what
we are and how powerless we are compared to Him, without Him.
We are humbled, or should be.
If Christ is in our hearts, then certainly we can intervene for
one another and do, and the small things we do may be much
bigger than we think.
I'm rambling, but do agree we are limited in our capacity to
understand God, yet we are told to seek Him with all that we
are. Perhaps our prayer should not be to understand Him better,
but to love Him better and to learn to better love as He loves.

the "dissection" of God to a point where simple faith and trust
become irrelevant. I do understand his frustration, stemming
from years of reading people's conflicting assertions of exactly
what and who both "God" and "Christ" are, and all the endless
and often irreverent questioning and casting of doubt on every
possible theological question imaginable. Add to that the fact
that the debates themselves often lead to very "un-Christian"
behavior.
Is better to simply love than to impose dominance in supposed
personal knowledge of God and Christ, or Scripture for that
matter. How many times do we/ have we caused one another to
stumble when we should be helping and strengthening one another?
Many things are deemed "mysteries" for good reason, and should
be accepted as such.

wondering if I'm clear, if they mean what I want them to, and I
wonder if they can ever fully express who I am, what I believe,
or what I want someone to know. I wonder what kind of trail my
words leave behind me. Words can do grievous injury, or they
can sooth and heal. They can teach, preach, bind two souls, or
create irreparable division. We need to keep a tight rein on
our words, willingly allow God to place that bit in our mouth.
Things said can be forgiven, but it's harder they be forgotten.
Words can stick in your soul like rusty barbed wire, festering,
and infecting what could have been a beautiful relationship.
Words are a warm blanket on a cold winter night.
Words are deadly weapons, arrows with poison tips.
Perhaps, the most painful thing is when someone shuts out your
words, refuses to listen, will not even try to understand that
you stand there, naked and vulnerable, exposing your throat,
tears coursing down your face, allowing them to see the beating
of your heart. But the very people we most love are sometimes
blind to our pain, our tears mean nothing, and we feel lost and
utterly alone, but for the grace of God.
Words, despite all their great power, are totally inadequate
windows to our soul.
Yet, often, they are all we have.
We should be very, very careful what pours forth from our mouth.
Better to be silent, then to say what we will forever
regret.[/font]
