The Commandments of God
By: Colin Feener Date: April 8, 2015, 11:15 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Here we are talking about the ten commandments God gave Moses
on the mountain. Tho shall have no other gods before me. And
those commandments. The bible itself, the five books of Moses is
a book of law and called so in the bible. Many times it was
written the Jews would not do something because of their fear of
the Jews. That is because in the literal the books are the Law
and people thought they we fearing God but only fearing the
Jews because God there too was only in the Spirit. This is not
the topic but thought I would put it in.
Do you know that when a man teaches the scriptures without the
Spirit leading him he is in error and breaks almost all the ten
commandments. First he is putting other gods before the true
God. The scriptures are right but in the literal sense they
deceive a man and they are lies, thou shall not lie. Being
Christian we do commit Spiritual adultery by the literal.
Teaching the literal that way the man steals the seeds planted,
he steals the man's Salvation and does tell lies and deceit. The
letter kills so he does commit murder. He does covet the other
mans things. He does inflict all types of abomination on the
listener, causing him to go deaf, blind and jump into the fire.
Teaching the Spirit we keep all God's commandments and a few
more Jesus gave us.

I can see that. A spiritual interpretation
of the Ten Commandments. Especially if you read them, realizing
that all sin is against God. Some of my thoughts, not
necessarily focusing on biblical interpretation, but definitely
influenced by how we read:

You shall have no other gods before Me. (Without the
Spirit, we will worship things other than God, who is, Himself,
spirit.)
You shall not make idols. (Idols are constructed without
understanding of the one true God.)
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. (We
worship in vain if we've no understanding.)
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. (Understanding what
Christ has done gives us rest.)
Honor your father and your mother. (My Father and Mother both
are in heaven, though my earthly parents still live.)
You shall not murder. (Yes, Scripture without Spirit is a dead
letter.)
You shall not commit adultery. (The worst adultery would be
against God)
You shall not steal. (We must be careful not to cast seeds of
doubt, which in a sense would be stealing, but plant good seed
and allow God to do the watering.)
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. (Who is
my neighbor, and how do I speak of and live my faith before
him?)
You shall not covet. (Accept the gifts God has given me and
don't envy others their position. Be willing to take a low seat
at the table.)

Yes, yes yes yes yes yes yes. God, my Father, I love this
girl. I do you know. You got it sister. another, making Idol, an
Idol is a dead image or graven image as is the word without the
Spirit. Does any one else here see what is happening Nancy? We
are coming to the throne of God and no one even sees it. I don't
care Piper. We do it alone if we have to. God knows and Jesus
loves it. He will talk to you soon now, I know he will. Watch
and see. I love you. Yipeeeeeeeeee. I can add lots more now but
for now let me feel the joy for a while.

As we carefully read through the OT starting with
Moses leading the Israelites through the wilderness toward the
Promised Land, we realize, hopefully, there is more to God than
the literal 10 commandments or even the literal 613 written laws
given to Moses. Only two of the adults who came out of Egypt
were allowed at the end of 40 years to enter in... This was NOT
because those two always obeyed the letter of those 10 and/or
those 613 rules, was it?
Look to the words of Jesus here to understand better why so many
fell in the wilderness while two entered into the Promised Land:
"Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
Matt 22:36-40
Remembering that God has never changed, do we understand then
what Jesus was saying?

You can see that he said, in the Law, the great commandment
and that is what Jesus answered and I would say that in the
Spirit that is the same great commandment, Love the Lord thy God
with all thy heart and soul and mind too. Nice to have someone
else with us John. Thank you my friend.
