Gnostics
By: Colin Feener Date: April 8, 2015, 8:44 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
A few times in my adventure with the Lord people have told me
I am a gnostic. The Lord never made me a gnostic. I am not sure
about them, well too much but I do know that they suppose to
believe that Knowledge saves them. It looks like that with me
too but now so. I believe we need the knowledge to get to the
Lord but it is not the knowledge that saves us. It is the Lord.
If we are lost in our understanding of God and his Kingdom.
Knowledge may put us back on track but again being on track
doesn't save, it may help get us to the Lord but it is always
the Lord and his salvation that saves us and then we must have
faith. That is to say we believe what is not seen in the
scriptures. While we are wrong because we do not know what we
are doing it is grace that keeps us from being kicked out until
we are saved but the gnostic, i like them but I am not one, as
far as I know.

You can not be labeled a gnostic, Colin.
Labels can be dangerous, anyway.
Here is one main difference I found, concerning
gnosticism:
Many religions advocate that humans
are to be blamed for the imperfections of the world. Supporting
this view, they interpret the Genesis myth as declaring that
transgressions committed by the first human pair brought about a
“fall” of creation resulting in the present corrupt state of the
world. Gnostics respond that this interpretation of the myth is
false. The blame for the world’s failings lies not with humans,
but with the creator.
This above mindset seems to ignore the fact
that casting blame is a major contributor to how we got where we
are. Blaming God seems a bit crazy to me, when I know my own
imperfections all too well.
