       hello!

enjoyed having a look round the main site for quite a while -
like the design and sometimes find myself imagining turning a
collection into a gamesroom open to guests so find it
interesting reading about someone who has done/doing it and now
there's a forum here too so figured, seeing as i'm a bit partial
to old machines (junkee!), might as well sign up now rather than
       put off the inevitable :)
       paul
(ps, promise to behave myself ;D)

cheers! yeah, the collection is coming along quite nicely -
averaging about 1 a month over about 4 years - stopped counting
a while ago - got the bug good n propa - always been a collector
of one thing or another - it's been vinyl for about 20years but
the old machines have always had an alluring quality about them,
something to do with the light :) and I enjoy restoring/keeping
old things going too, something that records can't offer!

       Hi Paul,
       Welcome aboard mate.
As Dave has said, Ive heard you have a fair collection. What
type / age of games make you part with hard earned then?
       :)

ello Kev, cheers :) i'm an AWP (MPU-driven) man for the main
part - favourite childhood memories were of early system80 games
and the way things worked out, tended to play more JPM machines
than BC but the collection actually has more Barcrest than
       anything else at the moment
was quite an occasional player BITD, mainly due to not growing
up with arcades on doorstep - probably a good thing but has
resulted in developing quite an obsession for the old relics in
       recent years all the same
tended to (try) restrict myself to machines built before 1985 -
rebuilt a ravaged Andy Capp and original £6 Super Streak
(dave'll remember the ones) a while back - would of liked to
have kept them but you've gotta draw the line somewhere!
generally £3, £2 and £1.50 jackpot machines but not fussy about
tech - if the design appeals, it's in - generally sys80 and MPU3
but also have a few MPU2, Maygay Triple-M, BellFruit 'BlackBox',
       Summit Coin ('8035' & video) and a Smash&Grab representing MPU4
       :)
conversions every bit as welcome as originals - quirky/cheap(er)
is often a good thing in my book
had a few Ace machines but nothing permanent yet - the
collection could do with a nice sys83 and an original
EachwayNudger, plus a SRU MDM Nudge CountUp and a couple of JPM
electro's - in fact, there's a long list of machines I want to
find and a whole bunch I don't know I want but will no doubt be
       tempted by along the way!
(although i've resisted the arcade carpet/change machine etc. I
like building lines of machines in the same cabinets, so once
i've found a cab, so follows the hunt for something to 'keep it
       company' ;D)
with more space and when the opportunity (spare cash) presents
itself, i'd like to add a few 70's pins and some 70's vids to
the collection too, oh and a funky old 4/6 player pusher,
       naturally :)
