Hello From Manchester

Hi, I have just joined this forum. I too miss the classic
fruities in the arcades, I remember the days when used to play
Chances Unlimited, Line Up, Snappy Viper etc fondly. My parents
used to take me and my brother on UK weekend breaks and the
hotels always had a games room or a fruitie somewhere and thats
where we used to play all old classics.
I bought my own fruit machine about 6 years ago now, and reckon
I am going to treat myself to another one for Christmas just
been purusing some sites! I dont have a games room as such have
just turned my dining room into sort of one with a card table
for my poker nights!
I hope to visit Mr P's maybe over the new year period with my
brother to play some reel classics! Can you let me know of your
opening times for New Year.
Thanks & Just wanted to say admire the efforts you make Mr P and
all of the other fruit nuts on here.
Regards

Welcome to the forum mate!! Yep you got it right about on every
one being fruit nut as all the members on here love there
classic fruits!! You got members who collect classic fruits,
play classic fruits etc on here, the fruits you was mentioning (
Line Up, etc ) was out of my era of playing fruits I starting
playing when the MPU4 stuff come out, Andy Capp etc, I'm not
that much of a fan of the MPU3 stuff but do put the odd pound in
when there's a new one in Mr P's to see what it's all about, but
for me personally you can beat a session on Electrocoins
Pyramid!!

Thanks for the welcome, I must be showing my age then with the
old Chances Unlimited and Line Up then !! :D
I also liked playing the machines you refer to, Andy CapP etc,
Road hog etc they were (and still are) good games, especially
when you compare them to the rubbish that is out there now, I
rarely play on the machines in the Pubs now as they just seem to
clean 20 quid off you within a matter of a couple of minutes!
Have to admit super 7 I have never played the Electrocoin
Pyramid! I played a lot of the early project stuff 7 heavens,
jokers wild etc and my favourite the one with the prize wheel
you used to get some good runs on that remember winning about 80
quid on one in an aracde in torquay and it paid out 1 pound
tokens was many years ago though! I was thinking of treating
myself to the hyper viper that was recently on e-bay but was
worried that with it being so old i reckon it would be breaking
down all the time and i think it was on old coins, also like the
look of cash falls, but in the end I have bought a classic club
cops and robbers! to join my Barcrest Thunderbirds! Am looking
forward to playing them over the Christmas Holidays and then
maybe a first trip to Mr Ps to sample all the classics!
Thanks again for the welcome

Hi mate,
Welcome to the forum.
I see from the machines you like playing, you've definately
found the right place!!
If you can make a trip down to Mr P's - you really will not be
disappointed. You'll need to allow at least a whole day though!!
:D :D All machines are in top condition and more importantly,
on very fair %'s. You WILL get your amusement factor! It is the
way machines should be! As you said, there is absolutely no fun
in being cleaned out of £20.00 in two minutes - I totally agree,
as would most people on here!! :)
With regards to opening hours - take a look at the main website

Hi and sorry for my late WELCOME!
I see you like Chances Unlimited! We do have one just joined us,
however it will not be ready for a while as we need a new MPU3.
The arcade is operated like a working museum with machines on
HIGH percentages for your enjoyment.
At the end of the day, I too love playing (I am not permitted to
play the arcades machines - HOUSE RULES) so I ensure the games
are fully bulbed and with good payouts...I love each and every
machine!
I look forward to your posts!
Mr P ;)

Thanks for the personal welcome Mr P,
Yes I can see from your posts and your arcade website that you
are very passionate about your machines! It is nice to see
someone taking the time not to mention the considerable effort
and money to run such a venture! You must love every minute
(well nearly)!!
Yes I reckon Chances is one of my favourite machines and it so
long since I have seen one to play, think the last time was at a
travelling funfair and it was in a sorry state really. I do love
the MPU3's but also the later models hence my buying
Thunderbirds and Cops & Robbers although the latter is a club
machine.
I will definately be paying your arcade a visit hopefully in the
New Year whilst off work, if not then will have to be easter. In
the meantime I will be keeping my eyes peeled for maybe another
machine for my fledgling collection, like you say on your
website though the classics are really hard to find and not keen
on e-bay as think can easily get ripped off.
Thanks again mr P and I wish you every success with your working
museum.
Regards

Put it this way, you wouldn't regret making a visit...Dave (Mr
P) has done an amazing job of pulling this collection together
for us all to enjoy.
I note you say you've a Barcrest Thunderbirds, is this the car
themed one with the yellow and red zones?

Hi DaddyAl84,
Thanks also for the welcome.
I will certainly be making my best efforts to aget down to Mr
P's to experience what he has put together for us to enjoy, I am
going to try and get down early in the New Year, it is quite a
long drive from Sunny Mcr ;) so will have to see if I can do it
whilst off work and the weather is kind.
Yes Thunderbirds is the car themed machine, she has some great
features and the sounds are pretty good to. My Local Pub used to
have it and thats where I first played it, and I was always
impressed with the features and payouts! used to leave up more
times than down, sadly after it left the pub I never saw it
again anywhere! and to this day I have not seen one on my
travels and I have visited quite a few arcades in my time, that
was until about 7 years ago I saw mine advertised on a fruit
machine suppliers website in Glasgow and just went for it! I was
a bit worried at first thinking what if its broken or breaks,
but it came with a full manual, spare bulbs and apart from a
power supply issue she has been fantastic. I have just treated
myself to another Machine Classic Club Cops & Robbers and am
hoping she does not dissappoint me!
Do you have your own fruit machine/s?
