Hello :)

Just wanted to say hello :) I've been meaning to join here for a
while. Firstly I'd like to thank Dave for being a real decent
person, I've enjoyed many chats about machines with you.
Well, my name is Michael and I live on the East Coast, not far
from Great Yarmouth....I'll say no more...there are classics in
Yarmouth, you've just got to look for them. there is also a wax
works there which all be it, isn't very good, but once you
finish, there is a small arcade with a lot of 70's machines
which I don't think a lot of people know about....if you do
visit, just to say, every time i've been there has been a lot in
there not working, so please don't expect a retro paradise.
I'll start with what I've just sold....
Viz 5p £6
Hyper Viper x 2 5p £6
Road Hog 5p £6
Andy Capp 5p £6
Monopoly 60th Anniversary £8 jp variable price of play
Viva las Vegas 5p £6
Fire Cracker 10p £2
I now own.....(not so classic)
Party Time Arena (4player) 10p £5
Popeye 10p £4 (not working)
Homers Meltdown 10p £5
Simpsons 10p £5 some random maygay chipset installed, so looks
like the simpsons, but plays like something I've never come
across.
...and finally, I have owned....
Cloud 9 2p I think £3/20p £4.80
8th Wonder 20p £4.80
The Roll £8 jp...cannot remember price of play
Cleudo 20p £6
Pink Panther 20p £6 (blue version)
Red hot roll 20p £15
Cops n Robbers variable price of play £4/£8
Around the town £8 jp (used as spares as never tried to repair)
Indiana Jones (again used as spares as never repaired).
Loads of barcrest £15 jp's too many to list
I'm sure I've missed some off, I'll add them as I remember.
I also turned down a partially working Sphinx...token jp (I
think the bloke only wanted £20, this was about 5 year ago lol)
Well, I'm glad to finally be here and I hope I can add to this
wonderful history of gaming.

The wax works museum is down regent road, if you're walking from
town down to the sea front, it's on the left hand side. There
is 1 the roll in Great Yarmouth, it's in the Majestic (Dave is
aware of this one) it's a £8 jp 10p play, it doesn't or didn't
accept tokens last time I played it, and I haven't took jackpot
for a while out of it, so I assume it hasn't been refilled for a
while. There is an original Monopoly 10p £3, Road Hog 5p £6 and
I think a monte Carlo or bust, or similar, I think it's a token
jp but cannot be sure, there is a few older bar x, big 7 10p
£8....in the really older cabinets, not multi nudge either. The
Majestic machines are poor payouts and the machines are very low
on cash (you can hear when playing). I like Hemsby or gorlston
on sea, in the latter, token only fools, sidewinder, there was a
red jpm oxo £8 jp, not sure if it's still there or not. Going
back to Yarmouth, I gamble in the Britannia Pier, there is 1
professional gambler (I know there must be more) that does the
circuit and whenever he's about as he knows most of the staff up
the front, you may aswell not bother as what he's not playing,
well, he would be a professional would he!!!!
I dunno why, but the 3 player party time, gets me in there
alllll the time (Britannia Pier, downstairs arcade) no classics,
just a place I always go to when in Yarmouth.
The arena takes half our dining room up, I should have said, I
literally only sold my machines recently due to my wife wanting
some space to live in (heehee).

Hello :) :) :) I am glad you like the Viz, get off my
laaaaaand, I only picked popeye up today.....I think it needs a
new board, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can get one
tomorrow, although it is a long shot. I always remembered popeye
as a machine full of features and fantastic sounds. How are you
getting on with your around the world? That's another you'd play
just to listen to it....beautiful sounding machine....well I
thought so.

It would be great if you did come down Dave, well both of you,
anytime, just message me on here, i'd love to meet up and have a
chat and even show you all the ever dwindling classics we in the
east have to offer...I'll even buy the teas.....I'd say a pint,
but wherever you go, you'd have to excus the DOND's that litter
the pubs!!!!!!!!!!

When I'm next in Yarmouth, I'll go and ask.....I'm amazed he
didn't want to in the first place, I'll let you know what he
says. I'll be going in the next week (sorry, only went the other
day).

Cheers mate for the info!! Have played in that Majestic a number
of times and find all there fruits play rubbish!! That Road Hog
and Monte Carlo are most probably the worst settings I have ever
played, never played there Bar Xs but Im guessing there rubbish
as well. In the Britannia Pair they do have 2 classic still they
are Super Hyper Vyper and a Viva Las Vegas Six!! Both set on
5p/£5 and the Viva Las plays ok but the Vyper plays rubbish!!
Every time im at my caravan I always vist Gorleston as they have
a top cafe there and have played there Only Fools and SideWinder
and other classics in that place but not very good, the best
classic they have in there is a Bar X set on 20p/£6, it never
pays JP but gives loads of £2 Xs wins with holds, im guessing
they never put any tokens in the Bar X?? Will have to see what
Hemsby all about, kool!!

I was thinking about the 20p £6 big 7, that used to pay out
loads, I'm sure it has a £10 bank limit before it pays out. I
didn't mention it, as now it's always empty since the arcade got
taken over. The hyper and viva are in the Wellington pier, I
totally agree the hyper viper is rubbish, although I do end up
sticking £10 or £15 in it, the viva las Vegas is loads better,
but it can eat your money too. In hemsby there is a £8 token
andy loves flo in the arcade with the car track out the front of
it. I like the mirage (I think it's the pink arcade) they've got
£3 only fools and cops and robbers, plus a few dwindling maygays
in there.
